Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama Some Issues He voted against banning partial birth abortion. "I disagree with his vote, and feel this should only be done when the mother is in extreme danger." · He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. "This policy even offends many pro-choice people. Bad policy." · Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government. "Sadly, this is still necessary, albeit to a lesser degree in 2008. As far as government positions, Obama is not referring to elected positions or policy makers, in general." What is your view on each of these?

I agree with the first two, but disagree with the last one. I believe abortion should be the mothers choice, and the mothers choice alone. I don't see any justification for forcing a woman to give birth to a child she doesn't want. I disagree with affirmative action, however, because it's another form of discrimination. Employment and education should be equal access opportunities. Affirmative action legally sets aside a specific percentage of people who can be considered for entrance into a job or school based upon skin color or religion. I find such legislation unconstitutional.
