What is courage?

I think that Mark Twain hit it spot on. There is never an absense of ear, and I'll extend that further to say there is never an absense o anger either. I think that courage is what allows us to be able to turn all those negatives (fear, anger, sadness, pain) into posities (motiitation, endurance, lessons learned, strength). Basically, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

I have always thought courage was the ability to not be afraid to try to do the things that you want to do without worry of failing. In other words I use courage as a source of power within myself.

Courage ma, comes in various guises, shapes and sizes (hey I'm a poet and didn't know it) to some courage is just getting out of bed each morning facing another day in this volatile world. To others courage is standing in front of 100 people giving a speech. One mans courage should not be measured by anothers. We all have courage but we display it in different ways, some are easy to hide it, some don't want it and others thrive on it. Even the most hated man can be the most courageous.

Courage is like having a strong belief that you can accomplish things positively and the way you wanted to happen will happen. That is only my guess. I think you are right on courage regarding kitten, courage is taking a risk and a lot of sacrifices and believing.

Hi raydene! I have so much fear and at the same time don't know how I got my courage to get through all those fears inside me. I guess, courage then is a God given Grace for without courage, I don't think I will be able to stand up and face the struggles of daily life.
