OK, for those who don't know, this is a line from Monty Python's "Flying Circus." This discussion is about me. LOL. Kidding. I have been told that because I am a woman, I shouldn't like Monty Python, or the Three Stooges. I've been told that I should love Chick flicks but not war movies. I've been told that because of my tastes, I am less than.... So, are you less than...?? Do you love things that are not typically your gender or your region or your religion? Are you a guy who loves "when harry met sally?" ARe you a woman who loves "Hogans Heroes?" Do you go with the masses because you don't want to be on the outside, or do you embrace your differences with the masses and even get a laugh out of them. I remember a commercial on BBC America for Monty Python's "Flying Circus" in which two guys dressed up as surgeons were dancing around, and the announcer said, "if your girlfriend laughs at this, marry her." That's me. What about you?

What? You're not supposed to like Monty Python!! Who told you this chit! I have "The Parrot Sketch" on my computer! I watched Monty Python all thru my teen years and have most of the show on tape, not to mention most of the movies! Tell them their "father smelt of elderberries" or "I fart in your general direction" I really dislike most movies that are considered chick flicks. I hate sappy, romantic, and mushy. I want action dammit, blow stuff to hell and back, and turn a couple hundred acres into a parking lot, or make me laugh til I pee my pants ... GIVE ME SPECIAL EFFECTS!! and lots of them.

What about Benny Hill??? I used to watch his show every night and laugh like an idiot. Tooooooo funny. My husband shares my humor. I think that's why we became friends in the first place.

He's not pinin'! He's passed on! This parrot is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch he'd be pushing up the daisies! He's kicked the bucket, shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!! OMG! That is so funny. Every time I watch it after almost 35+ yrs I still get tears in my eyes. Hubby is a Fawlty Towers addict, along with anything by Rowan Atkinson. He's got about 30 episodes of Blackadder on tape. My mom got me a couple of seasons of Benny Hill on DVD for Christmas. Awesome. I think one of my all time favorites, since we're on British comedy, is "Absolutely Fabulous". Just nothing short of frickin hilarious. Reminded me way too much of my high school years!

"I fart in your general direction" is still a tag line with my kids. Then we nearly fall on the ground in peels of laughter. Our spouses don't understand why we think this is so funny, guess they never well. When my boys were teens we watched the Flying Circus and even Faulty Towers over and over again. I guess it requires a certain mind set to find this funny.

I have been told that I am not a "normal" girl. Don't quite know what that means. I know how to put make-up on when I feel like it. I own over 50 pairs of high heels. I even own dresses, just don't wear them often. Love Flying Circus. Don't have much use for most of the Chick Flicks in all honesty, although there are a few that I most admit I love. Love SciFi though and a good amount of blood and gore will always hold my attention in a movie.

Oh, Ivaldean, I knew I liked you for more than your biblical knowledge. you are a girl after my own heart. I am the type of woman that can beat the crap out of a man if need be, while wearing a formal dress. LOL. I dig a good slasher film and I love to lounge with a good t and A film like Porky's or Animal House. I can also tell and laugh at the dirtiest of jokes. If this makes me less than a woman....

Animal House is one of my all time favorite movies! Right up there with Monty Python Holy Grail. Although I must say that I did pretty much like the first American Pie movie, that one was pretty funny. Dirty jokes? Please, I was a bartender for years I collected them!

LOL, I can actually agree. I'm supposed to love shopping, hate slapstick comedy and horror movies, love "chick flicks", etc, and if I vary from these set gender roles, I must be a lesbian. When I started this discussion, my husband and I were laughing at the Monty Python marathon that was on television. Just because I don't fall into a certain gender role, I shouldn't be counted as less. Yes, very weird.
