Do You Bring a List, When Going to the Grocery?

Or You Have It All in Mind? I usually bring a grocery list to make shopping easier because if not, I will definitely forget something. And If I don't have one, I tend to over shop. It's because I don't have any idea, if we already run out of this and that at home or what's left is only less than halfway already and needs to be replaced. things are a lot easier and faster and less time consuming when you carry a list.

I do write out a grocery list when I know I need to go. I make sure I write down all the necessity stuff first to make sure I get that. I do find that when I get to th store and get the needed stuf I find myself puting extra into my cart as well but aplurgeing here and there won't hurt for the bill is up there by the time it is all rung up. But a list is a must for me.

I am sometimes guilty of that too. Even with a grocery list, I tend to buy other than those listed...Maybe, a new product to try or I really want that certain item and never mind the budget ..thanks...

Hello,Eihdra! As i am doing the marketing works very time I know what things are to be brought from the grocery shop and what fruits and vegetables to be brought from the fruit and vegetable vendors.so I never make a list of the items and carry with me to the market.this I have been doing for the last fifty years.so i don't need a list of the things when going to the market.thanx.

I didn't worry too much about a list in the past, I just went down each aisle and grabbed what I thought I needed. Now I keep a notepad on the refrigerator and write things down as I know I use them up, or know that I need it for something particular I want to make. I don't have the gas money for extra trips to town when I've forgotten something, and I can't afford to buy extras of things I may already have at home, but wasn't sure if I needed or not. I definitely take the list to the store now.

I usually bring a list with me. In that way, I wouldn't forget our basic necessities whenever I go to the grocery. I may add some items if there's enough budget. Keep posting. HUGZ!

thats always been a great problem for me!!! i cant even remember 4 items...my mom will ask me to buy some items(4 or 5)...then i'll go to nearby stores to buy rose things...as i reach the shop and when the shop keeper ask "what you want?"....i have nothing to say... then i'll again come back to my home and i'll again get the list and go(in this gap,mom will scold me!!)...so now,i've started to prepare a list.... Goodday, Sri

I seldom use a list. I remember everything I need to buy and there isn't much that I need to buy. I usually buy things when they are about to finish and I only buy what I need.

I always take a list to the grocery otherwise i will forget atleast one item. I dont believe in have it all in your mind theory. you may go wrong atleast sometimes in your life. better carry a list. it will also keep the record of what you purchased in a long time and allow you to plan.

I usually make a grocery list. It is so much easier! I dont forget things and I also tend not to overspend. I can also think about if I really want or need the item.

If I am only getting a few things I won't make a list but if I need a lot then I have to have one or I will forget something. My kids like to take turns crossing items off the list as we get them. It's fun for them and they make sure we get everything crossed off so there is no worries about forgetting anything.

I don't bring shopping list with me cos somehow i am quite confident about my memory,so i just think it over on my way to the supermarket,go straight to the shelf and pick up those that i need and pay.I've read it somewhere that remembering the shopping list is a good way to help with your memory and even though you may forget a few things at first, but after some time, you will be good at it.

Taking a list along can come in very handy when I need a bunch of groceries. I live at home and usually my parents buy most of the groceries and I don't need a list for about 5 items as I will know them from the top of my head. If for some reason I do larger groceries or go with my dad to get the weekly groceries I do take a list because it will make things go faster and you won't forget things as you'll be able to look them up. Have you noticed when you forget your list you forget items and when you take it along you hardly or do not watch it? Very odd .

hey, now that you mentioned that, i do remember shopping with list on hand but didn't even look at it...maybe the paper is sending the list of items through our nerves then to the brain???...that's a great thought..I'll try to remember that next time I shop..thanks...

most of the time, i dont. i like to just relax and browse and look around to make my selection, and enjoy my shopping experience. but once in a while, if i have an idea or a plan for something, i make a list...it is rare...but it happens...

yeah, shopping is one great relaxation for me... but it sure is easier and much faster if I have one. At least i get to finish the groceries in no time and I still have ample time to window shop or check things from the department store...thanks...

I will always bring a list with me whenever I go to buy groceries. I practice this habit to avoid I forget to buy some things that really out of stocks in my house. Another reason is if I bring a list with me,I will only buy the things that I need instead of wandering around and buy somethings unnecessary. It's always good practice to get ready a list with us before we go to the grocery. It's really saved money and time. Cheers!

No,eihdra, usually I just remember the list in my mind because I only buy a few things every time. But if my mother ask me to buy something for her,I always will ask for a shopping list,I can't remember everything she want, because it is really a too long list.

I always have a grocery list. Only thing is I normally don't see it until the cashier gives it to me. She is so nice, it always has the price I paid for each item too. lol But seriously, I rarely use a list.
