Yeah,i always try speaking before a mirror, especially when i have to deliver a
public speech.Good pronuciation and smile a lot will attract more audience.
It is really an amazing method both to improve english and self-confidence.

I would suggest you get a good English dictionary. You can also buy a Thesaurus which explains the definition of each word and how it's spelled and used since the English language is difficult. Many different spellings for a word which is pronounced the same. This link might help you get started. http://reference.aol.com/thesaurus

You can buy the cassetes or CD's where pronunciation is taught.By listening to it you can repeat and get it right.Better still if you can find an English speaking person and by constantly conversing with them you will improve. Its not at all difficult.keep trying dont give up,practice makes perfect.I am sure with the interest you have you will surely master it.Good Luck to you.keep reading aloud that also helps.

Travel to an English speaking Country for a while, that is the best way, or get used to someone whose first language is English,or if you have a free call service on your line to England or Australia, get a friend on line, this will help you. American and Canadian pronuciation is different anyway. @Opal26 (17679)

Well, I have a suggestion, but I'm not sure that it's
going to work. You could go to the library and get a
book on tape which might be the best way or watch a
tv show, but that may not give you correct grammar
or pronunciation. I would try the book on tape.

I have many friends who have studied english. The most successful of them each told me their secret.
THEY GOT A PART TIME JOB IN A LOCAL PUB, OR, ANY OTHER JOB WHICH INVOLVED SERVING THE NATIVE ENGLISH PUBLIC.
This way, they learnt the spoken language the way it is really spoken.
Finally, I hope you don't try to lose the Chinese part of your accent - it is beautiful to hear.
