wonderful thing really.. silence. the week is finally over.. those of you that know already ive had my brother here as well as my eldest spawn for a visit. someone remind me next year to not have them here at the same time. in fact.. remind me to not have anyone here along with my elder. i love my daughter, but being around her and her attitude stresses me out horribly. so a breathed a sigh of relief when she got on the train back home.. choked back a sob when i kissed my brother goodbye.. and dropped my little sprite off at a birthday party this afternoon. havent ever left her with anyone before.. shes 8 1/2.. i finally have a friend here i can trust her with. its rather nice, even if i am still twitchy over her being someplace without mine or her fathers watchful eye. my energies are screwy.. my brain is frazzled.. im not grounded properly and im rather off kilter. weve ordered dinner, stripped to comfort, and are just enjoying the house being.. still. let the defragging begin.. what kinds of things do YOU do to get yerself set back to rights when yer all out of balance? what sets you out of sorts the most, and how to you get back into sorts? share yer thoughts with me while i kick back with a plate of steak tips and grilled chicken and just breath for a while...

That all sounds like a whole handful of all sorts of feelings and emotions. No wonder you were skewey. If it's visitors or if I've been away I set my home to rights and find my balance that way. My home is my haven, it's my space. It's where I can centre myself or lean towards whatever direction I want to. It's where all my journeys begin and where they end. What are steak tips?

Yep, sounds good. My friend grows his own beef so all my beef is oh so tasty and tender.

I'm never out of balance. My insanity is always the same at BOTH ends! ROFL. Here's a little something to send you la la land with visions of quiet and peace - until the next onslaught of visitors! LOL "Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again, Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision that was planted in my brain, Still remains, within the sound of silence." Sleep well tonight my friend.

I don't think I can easily deal with silence, unless absolutely necessary, such as letting someone sleep, or something like a written exam is taking place. For me, it's usually drop a CD into the CD player or CD drive on my computer, & let it play. Or if I'm feeling creative, here is a pet project that I'm still working on at: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/464674.aspx Uh - now playing: Rainbow In The Dark (Dio)

That's true. Also, the hum of a fan or air conditioner in the summer heat, or the refrigerator turning on to keep the stuff inside cool. Oh - yeah - also the hum of the computer fan when MyLotting in silence. Then in thw winter time, the furnace can make a bit of noise too. Or the occasional car, truck, or even motorcycle going by. Now playing: Children Of The Night - Doro Pesch

Oddly enough its the summer time that sets me all out of whack..I LOVE having my kids at home BUT living where we do they are ALWAYS home..or at least 97% of the time during the summer months and that just does a serious number on me..I NEED my solitude ya know..And whats also odd is that I just came across this discussion becuase my husband (for some strange reason..this is totally out of character for him) decided to take the kids to the skate park then out to grab pizza..The just left about 20 mins ago and I have to tell ya..I NEEDED the break...Unfortunately it won't be long enough....BUT its better than nothing..so I'm gonna post a little more here then go do a MUCH NEEDED workout and do some cleaning.. Generally though what sets me right again is just dallying around the house..no tv, no music..just me and my pets shuffling here shuffling there...

Hmmm what frazzles me. Dealing with VBH(value behavioral health) they piss me off to no end and can get me to the point where I want to reach through the phone and strangle some blanking sense into them.. . What balances me after that? Music everyone leaving me alone and maybe a nap. Or just singing I love to sing it's part of me. LOL! I also do some meditation when it's to the point the other things don't help me out. LOL!!!!

Hi Tessah-when out of balance and all over the place I like to get away from everything and everyone-do some meditating walking in the woods sitting there to balance myself out-ooooh the sound of silence mother nature in her glory thats what sorts me out...as for being out of balance not grounded etc it depends on different things that happen and why which is the way of the world eh?
