Going out to the ballgame!

This evening will find my backside sitting in the stands of my local minor league team. They are a Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, and, since it is A ball these are very young guys who still play because they really love the game. They don't make a lot of money so they have to love what they are doing. This motivation that these guys have makes the game totally fun to watch, no egos to deal with (usually) and so it's just a great game. Do you ever go see a ballgame for a local club? Majors or minors or part of the Independent League? Do you even know if there is a local club near you?

Hi friend, baseball used to be a popular sport in our country but sadly, its popularity was overwhelmed by basketball. We have a national team for baseball though and still a sport being played in universities.

I'm glad it hasn't completely disappeared :) You might want to go watch some of those games. Baseball is a fun sport. Much better than basketball in my opinion

Well, anytime you see the Lancaster Jethawks play one of those minor league teams you watch, try not to boo them too much

I love going to minor league games as well as major league. I go to about 30-40 Giants games a year and maybe 10 A's games (just to boo them). But whenever we go on vacation, I always make it a goal to see a minor league game. I've seen Fresno - Sacramento (Giants vs A's triple A), saw San Jose (A), Portland (AAA), Jacksonville (AA) and Savvanah (A). They are fun because of their promotions: (free admission with toga)

I love watching minor league baseball and womens basketball, they seem more fundamental. I agree, Its the game without the show in my opinion. I'm a baseball fan. Growing up I remember many visits to the games with my family and still I love attending games whether it be friends locally or professional. Hope you enjoyeed the game. Let's go Mets! 8)

I did enjoy the game A high scoring affair too, with the Jethawks winning by a score of ten to nine. Only one homerun in the game, for which they passed the hat and the money collected will go to the young man that hit it. That's always a nice touch

Yes, I have a team located about a half hour away, the Joliet Jackhammers. They are an independent minor league team that is equal to about a Single A minor league team. I love how minor league baseball players always play hard, and are such a good team and have great chemistry. I usually go out to a Jackhammer game five or six times a year, as the tickets are about ten times cheaper than White Sox tickets, which are outrageously expensive. I love minor league baseball.

The way those two Chicago teams are playing this year, I doubt the ticket prices are going to go down any time soon! Both teams look like they want a crosstown World Series Of course, I am sure my wife's team, the Angels, will try their best to not let that happen. My team, the Pirates, couldn't beat either Chicago team this year Minor league games are just way more fun for your dollar!

I live in Cincinnati and I am a huge Reds fan. I go to abour 10-20 games a year and I am always following them online or on TV. However, it they are not the best baseball experience in town. We have a minor league team called the Florence Freedom that puts on a great experience. I agree, at that level, there is still the passion that all players shoudl play with. It is great to see baseball at its purest level. Also, minor league games are so fan friedly. They have giveaways and all sorts of things to do while at the game

True, the giveaways are really a lot of fun. Tonight at the game we are going to they are giving away torn and dirty tee shirts that commemorate the Ortiz jersey hidden by a Red Sox fan at the new Yankee stadium earlier this year. I couldn't believe they dug up all that cement looking for that jersey LOL Plus the prices are so much better I got four tickets close to the dugout for 32 bucks! One of these days, my friend, the Reds will rise again and become like the Big Red Machine

That is an awesome promotion. With the hatred and between the Yankees and Red Sox and the curses, I can definately believe they dug it up. They would have if the stadium was completed and they found out:) Here's to wishing on the Reds, lol. Good talking with you again my friend. Until next time

I LOVE minor league baseball. I love going to see the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx(Double AA Afilliate of the Seattle Mariners). They're only about 45 miles from my house, and i go see them every few weeks, if not more often. Also i often go see the Memphis Redbirds, who have the best stadium in the MiLB :) If you havent saw their stadium.. you should look it up, or go there... its great

Never mind the ball, my dear. Watch out for those flying baseball bats! Maybe you can hide behind our lovely daughter, who probably won't be paying attention to anything but her food and drink
