Summer days, Eating outside, and my Hubby Cooked Tea!

This week the weather in the UK has just become better and better as the week has gone on. My children being off school for the summer hols have been able to play outside and with us just having a patio area put in the garden they have been able to have their meals outside too!
Today has been the best day of the week with temperatures of 72 degrees (is it degrees?) and the sun has shone all day and it has not been too humid just a lovely summers day. And the best treat of all was my hubby raided the freezer and cooked tea for us on the barbeque! So I did not have to cook. I think one of the best things he does is cooking on the barbeque, I am the best for the kitchen but he just does a fantastic spread on a barbie! It has been a lovely day.
What is the best thing that your S/O does in your house that you appreciate, and he can do better than you?

If I had known you were having a barbie, I would have come round!! I love barbies!! Something about how the food is cooked (as long as its not charcoal) makes it tastes fantastic!!
Especially having a salad and coleslaw too.... mmmmm... mouth is watering at the thought!! 
Having barbies, makes me wish I had a garden or at least lived downstairs!!! I love it when you walk past and you can smell them!!! Yum!!
Hope you enjoyed your barbie and the kid's outside playing!! I think this is finally our summer!!

Heres hoping it is finally our summer and long may it last!!
The barbeque was great, what is about barbeques that turn a boring banger into something that tastes like heaven. I agree with you that the smell of them in the summer is fantastic.

Even when you grill them they dont taste as good as they do when they have ben on the barbie!!! Thanks for sharing your juicy tale!!
I hope the weather does last long, especially when its my days off!!!

the weather has been hot..sunny. finally got rid of the mugginess for the moment tho, so its been very pleasant. mal cooks.. AOT. usually every weekend and any day off where hes actually home for dinner he comandeers the kitchen and cooks for hours. cant say hes better than i am at it.. nor i over him. we are both equally and accurately phenominal with the stove and the grill.

I am the kitchen cook in our house, I reckon though if I let him have a turn in their he would probably be better than me! I am a good little cook when I get going, but I am more of a convenience cooker as a lot of the time I am limited in time.

Hi there gemini,
It's 92 degrees F here and very beautiful..I guess everyone is staying most of the time in the patio this time..LOL! Having some grill and cold drinks!
My husband does the cooking most of the time since he is better than I am...LOL! I am only good for few menu and desert!

The weather here has been wonderful today Rose,hot all day ,but a bit too much for poor Mum,I have just been trotting around for thr most of the day,and Mylotting as and when ive felt like it!We dont usually have a barbecue,because there are just the two of us,but the other week when our daughter and her family came yes we had one..we went off tO Sainsburys,because it was the nearest place to us,and bought a veritable feast!!!kebabs and burgers ,sausages and cobs,..rolls to you!!lol...and all the trimmings ,we had a lovely feast!then we had some profiteroles and cream,they were scrummy!!I love a barby.there is nothing quite like the smell of the coals going..but we had to be carefyul as our grandson is three and you have to have yeyes i nthe back of your head with him.But im pleased that you enjoyed yourself,may the summer holidays go well for you Rose.

I tell you what ruby you can go too far with all the yummy stuff there is for a barbeque! We have gone overboard on goodies loads of times, I mean there is just so much to choose from nowadays, gone are the days of just sausages, burgers and chicken! I am just hoping our lovely weather continues for us all!!

hey gemini it's great to know that the weather has been so nice for you that you can get out when you can. The weather here has been crazy we had off and on thunder storms for about a week now it' sunny and nice in the high 70's.
I am not one for the heat so I stay indoors where it is cool. I don't have a s/o wish I did so he could cook on a grill for me the way your husband does for you your lucky enjoy it. I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer days with your family. Have fun and take care.

It has been lovely again today, it has been 79 here today but it keeps going cloudy so we may get storms soon. Not having a barbeque today though, although it is tempting when it is so hot!

My ex used to like to cook on the bbq. I should have encouraged him more...hang on...I did. The more I encouraged him, the less he did. LOL. At the end he would go to work, go to the pub and drink and gamble, come home and watch sports on TV and drink, and sleep. He was eating very little...drinking a bottle of spirits a day.
Do you realise ow lucky you are...Hang on...yes you do and that's what this post of yours is about. Take no notice of me. Your post was delightful and reminded me of happier times of my own that went bad.

My hubby is a better cook than me. I don't like cooking much and I love it when he is in the mood to cook, especially the weekends. He does a pretty good barbeque too!!

gemini, Well the weather here in Arkansas is very hot 102 We have a heat advisory. I went out to the pool for about an hour early this morning, but the was it.Now we are in the house in the air cnditioning.We too have been spending lots of time outdoors in the evenings and mornings before it gets so hot.I do not have a spouse to do things around the house.I do have a picnic table, my kids will come over and cook out sometimes too.I love cooking out.What is cooked tea?

Tea is the word we use for dinner, the evening meal and my hubby cooked it! You have had it hot today, I think that would be even too hot for me too. How it was today was enough for us, my daughter found it hard going but she is only two and last year there was no summer so it is her first taste of hot weather!

The weather was muggy the last few days , and great swimming days . I love being outdoors with swimming , planting , and cooking , but my finace works as a mailman and is out in the weather all day and likes to be in the ac most days . We do atleast cook out a few times a week .
