my poor bunny:(

The last couple of days my Rabbit (roger) has been a bit off colour, eating a bit but not drinking much, his eyes are gungy and i'm worried it may be mixy, i've been cleaning his eyes with cooled water and letting him loose in the garden where he seems happiest. I'm going to take him to the vets but i'm scared they'll put him down :(

First off, what is mixy? You mention that he goes in the garden. He could have worms or other parasites from going in the mud. Also, if his eyes are cruddy, he probably has a yeast infection which is easily cured by an ointment the vet can give you. Regardless, your rabbit has to go to the vet. He is suffering and that is not right.

miximotosis (not sure on the spelling) spread by flies and is a big killer of rabbits. He has only gone in the garden the last two days so that i can see him doing something other than looking sorry for himself. His hutch is cleaned every few days and he has a nice sized run for exercise. gungy eyes is a bad sign. I am as i said takeing him to the vets, but i fear they will put him down

The disease is spelled myxomatosis and is spread by mosquito and fleas. Not flies. Treatment may include frequent cleaning of the eyes and other discharge, force feeding (if the rabbit stops eating), fluids and anti-biotics to prevent secondary infections. FYI if that is not what he has, get the vaccine (you need to do this once a year) and he should be treated for fleas.
