Well these last few weeks me and my partner have been doing those last finishing touches to the house, the ones you always say you will get round to at some point but never do untill you decide you want to move and then have to rush to get them done so you can put your house up for sale. So today while i've been off getting my weding dress fitted my fella has been doing some of those finishing touches. He's waxed the wooden floor in the livingroom, re-glossed the paintwork in the bathroom, touched up the walls (including cat scratches) in the hall and livingroom, and given the hall/landing ceiling a lick of paint. He also did the little knob at the top of the bannister, however he didn't bother to tell me that, so i put my hand on it as you do wehn you are about to go downstrairs and it felt all tacky and sticky. He was right there so i asked him about it and he said he's painted it, but kepts forgetting all day so has been touching it! Well what a waste! It will need re-doing again now. I think it's best if he does it first thing in the morning before we both go out for the day?

That is the only trouble with painting, guaranteed someone always touches it. In our house with four kids it is a foregone conclusion that they will all have stripes up their backs and in their hair! But there is not really a time that we can paint without them being there, well there is school time but then I still have one who is at home all day!

We don't have any kids but we do have a cat. The mr aso painted a step in the kitchen and of course the cat woke up and out her paw prints all over it! We have no realised she has to be shut out of the room with the wet paint untill it dries!

I agree with you. Either that, or it can be the last thing he does at night before the two of you go to ed.

Good idea, but what if one of us gets up to go to the loo? The way our house is laid out you have to go past the landing to get to the bathroom, and to stop yourself falling down the stairs on your return you would usually grab hold of the knob to steady yourself.

or at night before he goes to bed can try while you are sleeping. and y'll are like us we bought some paint a month ago to re paint the kitchen and its still setting there no one has looked at it. Guess I should put a fire under all that aint working to get to it for I cant sand or wash the walls to get it ready. my shoulders would flare up and put me to bed like it did when we moved here and I painted the cupboards . So they need to do that and I can paint!
