Restaurants in many countries display sample foods outside. This makes the customers easy to decide on their menu, instead of wasting time inside the restaurants. In Japan almost all restaurants do display food in front.
Do you have this kind of system in your country also?

In Japan, ordinary food as well as today's special are displayed. So you have almost all the choices in many of the restaurants.

Hello aryajayaprakash,
Im, from the Philippines and, we also have the same thing that some restaurants do. If you eat at food courts here they usually put actual food displays on their counter top where you could chose the menu. I guess your right that this kind of thing really helps the customers choose what food they want to eat..

It is a convenient method for customers to make their choice. I do prefer it.

My country, Australia rarely have this kind of system. I can only think of one Korean cafe that have this system. Yeah, I agree with you, I often spend like 10 minutes reading a menu. The more words in the menu, the longer it took me to read. Therefore, an image equals to a thousands words to save time and effort.

I think the closest thing that I can relate that to, is sometimes restaurants will have a display of their desserts. I think thats because people will most likely have a appetizer and an entree but will pass on dessert. So its maybe some type of way to promote the sales of dessert too.
But other than this I don't really recall seeing food displayed in the front of restaurants in the US.

I think this kind of displays are popular in Japan only compared to other countries.

That's a good thing. You don't have to go in to the
restaurant to see the foods. Saves time. Some of this
types of restaurant already existed in our country.
I don't know if the restaurant all display their foods
it will be hard because every time you see a food in
display it will make you hungry. And you buy more and
more.

Hello aryajayaprakash,
I don't think we have it here. Food are not being displayed as samples here. The most that we have maybe just a catalog menu with a very tempting photo of each food. That's normal way I guess. I think they do the right thing in Japan for displaying the samples as most tourists can't speak the language.By displaying the different menus that they have, it is easier for the customers to make their choice.

well yeah..we do have some display of food to choose from..but if we want something not in ordinary we could always eat in restaurants and ask for a menu for the day..
