I mentioned in a post yesterday that Mr Ruby came in the door with a lovely bunch of red roses for me.They were beautiful and very much appreciated. But shortly after ,we were having a cup of tea,and the conversation turned to hammer drills, now im not sure why but alarm bells started ringing in my head!!and the conversation seemed to get `stuck` on hammer drills,no matter how I tried I couldnt change the subject.Well it seemed that Mr Ruby had seen a hammer drill that he had to have!!it was a this seasons must have accessory for me it appeared!!...so in the end ,as per,I caved in ,and felt that he had talked me into the idea of how useful this drill would be,that the price would never be as low again, that bargain drill,of which there was only one left on the shelf, had to be purchased!!!So the roses were the sprat to catch the mackerel..and he trotted off very happily and came back complete with the box under his arm,and my purse was a good bit lighter!!..but that was a brilliant little ploy, dont you think?

Oh ruby, how clever Mr Ruby is. I think that is so cute! Are you sure he didn't already have it purchased? Men are such little boys! At least he though of buying you the roses. I' quite sure you will benefit from that drill in some way. I know I sure could use one myself. I have a few projects that could use the help of a drill. Maybe he would let me borrow it!

I am glad you recognize the male mind as a fantastic thing-Feminists would never yield to this obvious fact of life.

Childishly fantastic yes!!!lol no I dont mean it really,if all he wants out of life are some more power tools, then lol im fairly lucky!!but the cupboard under the stairs seems to have a good few boxes of drills and power tools as it is!!he talked initially about Bosch power tools, and then went on to discuss the wide variety of makes involved ,but we came to a decision that if a particular power tool was needed as a part of your trade, then to buy a very reputable make would be right, but if its only going to be used on and off, then a run of the mill make is fine.

Excellent ploy on Mr Rubys part, deserves top marks for that! The male mind is extremely marvellous and the things that they come up with to get what they want never cease to amaze me. However in our house I am quite cunning too and often if I want something I will plant the seed in his mind so he thinks that he thought of it first! At the same time distracting him from his buy and then he forgets. Are you having the lovely weather again today?

The weather here is glorious!!the dog is feeling the heat though !but yes they have very good ways of getting what they want and in fact are quite childlike!!lol bless them, but I didnt really mind too much ,it was just the way the plan cleverly unfolded,he had been talking of going to a warehouse in Hucknall ,where only trade is allowed, but we have a pass as a friend is in the trade, and I knew then that there was something on the go!!but im sure at some point the drill will come in vry handy..now I wonder how I can wheedle him into keeping a couple of chickens??

You were slow there Ella, you should have been one step ahead of him,it pays to keep on your toes you know. But he played it very cleverly,he maybe should work for the government.I am sure that you were like a rabbit caught in headlights when he dropped the question about the hammer drill into the conversation, but men will be men,my hubby has oodles of power tools that lay idle in the garden shed, they are mainly Black and Decker tools, though there are a few Bisch tools to,Oh and his big drill is a JCB one.But they are all tools that he has collected himself over the years, and he has worked hard to pay for them.
