My Playstation 2 motor is not spinning. Do you all know how to fix this without any big expenses? I have my PS1 still; but I have several games on the PS2 system that I love on it. Tips, hacks, help!

My son is a whizz at fixing gaming consoles. He is asleep right now because he works nights but I will find out when he wakes up and send you a message. He should be able to give you some tips on how to fix it.

I spoke to my son about your problem. He said if the fan isn't working, then it probably needs replaced. He said you can buy them relatively cheap on ebay. He also said that if you play it a lot, that is more than likely the problem. I hope this has helped you out. He said if you were close by, he would be more than happy to fix it for you. If you get the fan and have trouble with it, let me know and he said he would walk you through it.

I forgot to add that he said if it is not reading discs, it is probably time to invest in a new playstation. He just had to replace his for the same problem.

I've heard this happens a lot. I've had problems with mine, but it corrected itself. I wish the PS2 was like the older consoles, you know? Back then all you had to do was blow in the back of the game and the problem was solved, lol. Sadly, you will most likely have to take it somewhere to get it fixed.

I know. I was chatting on another site before this one. They didn't have the expertise to know what was wrong. They just knew that it happened to them as well. Stinks. I am looking into if the thing can be fixed or not. Thanks for everything.

You need to spend on it. We have ours fixed, it cost us around $10 to do so. I don't know how it goes to other countries. I live in the Philippines. Anyways, mine failed me again like 4 months ago. So even if I got those super wicked RPGs in the PS2, I can't play them anymore...Sad. Try prying it open, and check if you have enough knowledge on electronics to fix it yourself I remember the electrician who did it for us just used a cutting from a tetra pack to make the PS2 work, although I'm not sure how he did it so I can't help you with that. I hope you fix it though, good games are still in the PS2 and the PS3 is still lacking quality exclusive titles.
