ok if there is supposively only adam and eve.. then cain and abel.. where did the rest of us come from? did adam and eve have a ton of other kids and everyone is incested? did evolution play a part in the extra people? were there aliens? i dont know about you but i would rather not think about us all coming from an incested family..

Because of questions like this and so many others makes it hard for me to believe in the bible being anything other than a book. Alot of people say if you need the answer to something just read the bible..okay read it and still have no answer. As to your question, the powers that be had to create more than just adam and eve in the beginning. It makes no sense to do anything else.

My idea is better then believing we are all the product of incest.

I was talking about my theory being better than yours not god. Because if you think about it logically there is no way of knowing what god intended or how it really was because we weren't there.

Hi moonlitmagikchild, The story of Adam and Eve is just that a story. There are many such fables in the Bible. A little later in Genesis, we read about Noah and his family being the only people saved from the flood, so once again they would have had to start over. I don't think we should pay much attention to these stories. There is much that is good in the Bible but also much that seems very bad to us today. We have to remember that it was written for a different time. Let us learn from the good and become better people for the times in which we are living now. Blessings.

I don't seem to remember of but one instance where god actually wrote anything himself ( the 10 commandments ). Everything else was someone else's writing, Not necessarily the direct word of god, & thus falable & biased.

Re-read the details of the creation in Genesis. You will find 2 actual accounts. One is of the creation of the whole earth, including man. And the other is what happened in the Garden of Eden. It is not even in the same order as the first account. So I believe that the story of the creation of the Garden and of Adam and Eve is a seperate act of creation and that there were other people on the earth at the time. Otherwise, Cain would not have had anyone to marry since they were the only children Adam and Eve had at that time. That is my belief anyway. Never have heard anyone teach on this topic.

There are a lot of things people think the Bible says but it doesn't, and if people don't read it for themselves and only take what others tell them, they will never know what is really there. Others read it but take things out of context and twist the meanings. There are so many things people don't understand because of these two reasons. There are other reasons too why people are confused and don't understand. You just have to read for yourself and pray and ask God to make things clear. God's ways are not our ways. He is so far higher and wiser than any of us could ever be. That is why He sent Jesus...who was actually God in human form, to help us understand, and to pay our debt for sin so we could be saved and live forever in heaven instead of hell. If people could just stop listening to all the false ideas that they think come from the Bible and find out what is really in there...well, can't make them do that...

All the creation stories in the bible suggests that incest had to take place. It happened after Noah also, but, religion also teaches that God created each and everyone of us without mentioning our mother and father.

just another contradiction.. but if he creates us why even make a big deal on that we have a mother or father? he could just create us and us rain down from the sky lol

i don't think we all come from an 'incested' family, despite our defects i don't think adam and eve are the only ancestors of human being today. i think adam and eve were not two real people. rather, they represented a race, or even a nation. the bible is a scripture, a religious book which is written for certain purposes. i think the events and things in the bible should be placed in the 'twilight zone' between reality and fantasy. my other guess is adam and eve representing a family in a certain small place the bible talked about. there were many people around the world in the adam and eve time.

I think that very thought is why i tend to swing towards belieiving there was evolution somewhere along the line. It weirds me out to think that EVERYONE could have descended from the same 2 people.

And if Adam and Eve did populate the world, why are holy wars okay? Wouldn't we all be God's children? Oh yeah, I forgot, you have to accept Jesus to be a child of God. Good grief. ATOM was the first....people people people.... :)

I don't think that the concept of the whole world coming from Adam and Eve. It would be very stupid. They might be the first ones but not the only ones. So please re think and don't get afraid. We all are not from same ancestors.

i dont believe that the whole adam and eve thing is legit but being raised with this i just want some one to actually have a good theory on how it supposively happened..

well to understand the true meaning of life and where did one come from u should read koran which unlike bible has not been manipulated over the centuries. so if u really want to know where we come from, read koran english translated version as this tells u everything from the beginning of the earth to the future to come. and believe it or not, 95% of koran has been proved correct scientifically by scholars,5 % information can only be interpreted in the future due to limited scientific knowledge at this time.

thats all true. it has been a millions of years ago when the first man originated and started reproducing. actually it is known that man evolved from monkeys. this doesn't happen in a single place.it happened all the world at the same time and hence we have different types of people and different languages. they have adapted to the place of their origin

We're all 'incested' anyhow. Consider this. You have two parents. Four grandparents. Eight great-grandparents. By the time you get back to the Mayflower and Shakespeare, there are 16,384 people directly antecended from you. By the time you get back to the Roman era and when Christ was supposed to be around, there's approximately 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 people who at some point in history needed to have at least one child to carry on the line to produce you. This is a bit of a problem given there's only ever been around 30,000,000,000 people alive in the world, ever. So, Genesis mythology aside, our gene pool isn't as clean as you expect. If you're married to or seeing someone from the same country as yourself, you're almost certainly related, if only distantly.

Excellent Question. We make the assumption that after creating Adam and Eve, God forgot how to create people. If God believes incest to be wrong and He is God then it is His responsibility to produce. And he did. If you read carefully, After God created everytrhing, including prople, see Genesis Chapter one, He created Adam and Eve and placed them in a special garden away from everyone else. When they sinned, He kicked them out of the garden and back where everyone else was. That was hoe cain found his wife. Says so in the Book.

how come only adam and eve were in the garden and not everyone else? it does make sense though..

Everything is a program, nothing but a program and it leads us to the conclution that it is a system. If it is systematic then it means it has order, which can not exist randomnly but untill unless assisted by an external program by some programmer. Now, who can that programmer be ?
