I got some really bad news tonight.

I had a horrible phone call tonight from a friend of mine. She called to ask me if my nephew was ok and tell me that she heard he had passed away. I couldn't believe it could be true because his mother hadn't called me. She was married to my ex-husband's brother. Both of us are divorced, but we still consider each other family. Anyway, I called her to find out about this terrible rumor, only to find out that it was true and she doesn't know how he died. I guess there was an autopsy performed today, but she hasn't heard anything yet.
The worst part is, he was only 25 years old. I feel so bad, he was family to me more than my ex or any of his family.
I guess I just wanted to put it down somewhere and Mylot seemed the obvious place. I always find that I feel better if I write things down, so that's why I'm sharing. I don't know if it helped and I know it didn't help my sister-in-law, but it's done now.
Thanks everybody for tolerating me, seems like I only come here with bad news! I'll come up with something happier to post soon!

I am sorry to hear about the loss. Perhaps she didn't speak to you about it because she wasn't able to compose herself enough, and you being outside family she didn't feel it was necessary immediately. When my brother passed away, I didn't really talk to anyone at all, no matter how close they were to me. I had a really hard time dealing with it, and even lost my job over it. But once again I am sorry for your loss and condolences to their family.

Awww, hugs to you. He was young. Just wait until the autopsy report comes out. Why don't you go and confort your sister in law? You need not do anything spectacular but your presence, I'm sure, will mean so much to her and to your nephew.
Be strong, have faith, Know that God has a plan and a reason why this had to happen.

Wow! 25 years old is just too old to die! I know it is a shock when someone you care for passes away, let alone someone so young! I am sorry for your loss.

it is always a shock to find somone very dear to us who past away. specially if we know that he/she is not yet that old nor not even sick. i am sorry to hear that news and i am sure you really felt bad and shock at the same time. me and my wife will say a prayer for your nephew. May the Lord help him and keep him. it is okay to hear a bad news and i hope sharing it at mylot can make you feel better.

Thank you for sharing this with us. And I'm sorry for your loss. Wow, 25 is young. I can't even imagine what might of happened to him. Sometimes little things show up at young ages, I've noticed that more often these days. I hope that you and your family are doing okay through this time. And I will be thinking of you.

I'm so sorry. That's so young. My son is that age and I know I'd be devasted if something happened to him. We're here for you.
