Turning Clearance Deals into Dollars

My local stores ran special sales this weekend, and one store decided to heavily discount its clearance merchandise. At the end of the day, they opened up their clearance inventory and said, "If you can fit it into a bag, you can have it for $1!" I filled three bags and came home with lots of interesting things. There were many little jewelry style trinkets, which perhaps I will be able to turn around and sell - either individually or in bulk - on eBay. Do you shop at clearance sales, and then turn around and resell what you buy? Do you resell on eBay or through another online vendor? Or do you turn clearance savings into crafts to sell at craft shows? Or do you sell your clearance purchases at a garage sale or a yard sale? Tell me your story of turning clearance deals into dollars!

highlyclever,I think there are so many questions in the discussion .answer 1,I do shop at clearance sale when I'm fond of the goods, but I wouldn't buy many, one or two is enough; answer 2,I've never turn around and resell it,Maybe I will go to give it to my friends as a present. For I'm not very familiar with selling on eBay or other online vendors,So I won't even turn clearance savings into crafts to sell at craft shows. ^_^/kristin

I haven't done this but I've definitely thought about it! I actually just started selling my own old things on eBay this week but I won't know until the end of the week if I make anything. Do you find that you make a lot of money this way? How do you decided what to put for shipping? Also, they didn't charge me too many fees, about 35 cents but will this go up after my item sells?

You will also want to be aware of the final valuation fee. eBay issues a percentage charge for the total sale (only if your item sells). If you accept payments via PayPal, PayPal also deducts a percentage when a seller receives payment. Often with shipping, I will take the item directly to the post office and ask: "What would be the most expensive cost for shipping this item within our country?" When international bidders request a shipping price, I go back to the post office and ask for an estimate. "A lot of money" depends on your definition of "a lot". If you sell a few items at a huge profit or if you sell lots of items at a small profit, you may do well for yourself. Thanks for your reply!

It seems very interesting! But I never have done it before. I just help my friend to sell some clothes in his store and I also help another one to sell some good books. I enjoy it very much. But all of this are face to face! he he...I wanted to find a part time job online before. But I would like to learn something in my bedroom right now.Reading some sales books to improve my sell skills. Have a good day and enjoy yourself!
