How do you pop your ears?

This past week, my ears have been stopped up when I wake up in the morning. My spouse goes around talking to me as if I can actually hear him. Though I keep stressing the fact that I can't hear a word he's saying. Just a bunch of mumbling. By late afternoon, my ears pop and I can hear much better. Right now, they're stopped up again. Sometimes I can pop my ears by yawning. Not always. Other times, they pop by themselves. Would love some suggestions on popping my ears so that I can kind of hear what people are saying around me. My daughter doesn't understand why Mommy can't hear every little word she is saying. I don't want to disappoint her!

Well I know that you can buy stuff that will clear your ears out, I think it is called Otex, that is what I have used before now but whether you can get that or not I dont know. But there must be something similar to buy. Or a good home remedy is olive oil, heat a little up, warm though not too hot obviously, then pour it into your ears and put some cotton wool in. If anyone else has already suggested this I apologise I am coming through my email so cannot see other responses!

I will usually tug on my earlobe a bit to see if that helps or lay on the ear that is stopped up, or tilt my head in the direction that the ear that needs to be popped is. Then again, since yours are both clogged, not sure what to say. I hope this helps though!

Will try out those ideas! Thanks. I guess it's just the weather in early mornings. My ears finally popped. But they will be stopped up by tomorrow morning.

If your still having problems with your ears try going to the health food store and getting some Yeast Cleanse,I was having all kinds of trouble with my ears and then was told about this since I have been taking it I have had no trouble, most ear problems is caused by yeast buildup. You have a great night.

I have some serious problems with my inner ears and one of those problems is the same thing as you. They seem to get plugged up and I can't hear properly. What I do is chew gum. When you chew gum you tend to swallow a lot and that pops them for me. Sometimes I have to do the yawn thing too but it doesn't always work for me either. But most of the time it will work. At least that is your only problem, if it is? I have a problem with the nerve behind my inner ear. It swells up because it gets too much blood flowing to it, and then it covers the back part of my inner ear and I can't hear in that ear. Because of that my whole world spins out of control and if I don't lay down or sit down I will black out and fall down. The doctors say there is nothing they can do about it. I have to live with it. I hate it because these atacks, that's what I call them, come about twice and sometimes three times a day and they each last about 15 minutes to half an hour. By the time it is over I am usually throwing up and feeling pretty sick. So try to chew gum and see if that works for you. Good luck. Alrighty then, talk to you later, Your friend, Chris.

How weird! Have you checked iwht a doctor why this is happening? I went through a period like this a few months ago but it did sort itself out in the end, just before I went to have it looked at. In my case, I think it was water trapped in the inner ear from swimming. To try and clear them, I'd hold my nose then sort of blow as if I were trying to blow my nose. Sometimes it worked, sometimes I'd just get a pressurized head LoL

I usually yawn and can pop my ears. But sometimes it's really frustrating and no matter what I do they just won't pop! To prevent them from popping like when flying or driving through the mountains I try to chew gum it almost always works to keep my ears from getting plugged and popping really bad because sometimes it hurts!

Yawning is ok but does not always help. Holding my nose and trying to blow out until my ears pop seems to work better. You could have a problem with ear wax buildup and should use a wax removal solution if it is bad. Our youngest could not hear hardly anything. We took her to the doctor and he gave her some drops that she used and after a week she went back and he flushed her ears. It was surprising how much stuff came out. And then she could hear again.

Yes, that is how I pop my ears - by opening my mouth and wiggling my jaw about. Not quite a yawn but it does the job. It is better to do it behind your hand as I look a complete idiot when I'm doing it so it is better in private! haha On an aeroplane they dish out sweeties to suck which helps but most of all the important thing is to keep your mouth open to equalise the change in air pressure. Can be quite painful too.

try chewing gum. If it is water (I'm guessing no) then we jump on one foot. This seems to pop the water bubble.

the way that I have always done it to pinch my nose and then gently attempt to blow it.
