I love my garden!

Is having a garden an inspiration? My wife and I have been married for more than 25 years and never really had a place to put in a garden until we bought the property we live on now. We are starting out slow so we don't over do it and regret gardening. We started last year a bit by removing some of the flower, shrubs and trees we don't like or want. We still have more trees to get rid of but they are going to really take some labor so that's been put off until another year. This year we start some strawberries and raspberries, some of my fav fruit. Of course we won't get a crop this year but I look forward to next year and many years after that of strawberries and raspberries. We put up a kitchen tent this year, just behind the house so you can't see it from the road but we sit out there and just take in the beauty of our backyard gardens.

My garden doesn't have flowers in it. My flowers didn't bloom this year, I plant seeds as a neat little science project that my children can watch grow. This spring was hot and we planted and then after a week or two it went before freezing so I think it killed all of my seeds. My vegetable garden I spend a lot of time in and love it.

Hi frankie, I'm glad you enjoy your garden so much. It sounds like a very peaceful place. My garden is quite small by comparison just taking up maybe 1/10 of the yard. I am going to make it alittle bigger though shortly becasue I am going to plant some fall crops in a few weeks. I may try to make my garden bigger next year. The one we have now is bigger than the one we had last year. With the cost of food it seems like a smart thing to do. Happy gardening!

I do like my garden and we often will sit out and have a cup of tea if the sun is out,we dont have a massive garden,but its plenty big enough,then for our vegetables we have an allotment,which hubby takes care of,I do the garden at home,but im growing atumn bedding in the green house at the moment as its much cheaper to grow from seed.
