I have dinner already cooking. We have to leave here in a few for my daughter's eeg appointment and we don't know how long we will be gone. Her appt. is at 2pm and I know we won't be home till like 5 or later. So the crockpot is the hero today. I will only have to make noodles when I get home cause the crock is doing the meatballs. Ever have a day when your crock pot is your hero?

Yes, many times! When I had meetings on monday evenings, I would start supper in the morning, and even though we had a rushed evening, I still had a chance to eat before the meeting. Sometimes I only had time for a quick roast beef sandwich before I left, but the rest of the family could eat on time, and I could eat the veggies when I got home after the meeting.

When I worked full time I made very good use of my crockpot, or slow cooker as we generally call them. It was particulary wonderful on winter evenings when it was already dark when I got home from work and I just didn't feel like doing anything other than slumping in a heap. I'd use the breadmaker on it's timer too, and have a lovely hot stew served with hot bread ready on my return. Fabulous! Just the smell as I walked in the front door was enough to perk me up!

I probably use my crockpot 2 or 3 times a week. With working all day most nights I don't want to make dinner when I get home. Recently I started putting frozen meat into the crockpot and putting it on low and it cooks just fine. I never made ribs in the crockpot before but I found just putting bbq sauce on top and cooking on low and they come out fine. I also love cooking beans for soups and red beans and rice.
