We need to be able to organize our interests

I know this has been said plenty of times before but it's so true and aggravating that we don't have this option.
I started a discussion a little while ago under "ebay" I still haven't gotten any responses even though typically "ebay" is a poopular interest....well I just figured out why. I posted under an "ebay" with only 900 and some users instead of the one with over 9000 users that I normally would post under. How did I make that mistake? Because I have a huge long list of interests to go through and missed the more popular one!
I actually discovered that mistake while looking for an interest to post an ink stain problem under...I haven't found it yet because I got distracted by the interest problem and posted this discussion instead.
If you could organize your interests, how would you do it? Your favorites? most popular? Alphabetical? Some other way unique to you? I would arrange mine by my favorites/the ones I post in mostly. And then probably my their popularity after that...like maybe if we had a "top 20" for our favorites and then the rest could just be ordered however or not at all.

I talked about this problem not too long ago myself. It is frustrating looking through all those interest. Personally, I'd do my alpabetically. That just seems easiest to me. Maybe one day they'll have to option to where we can do our own interest however we want.

I thought about alphabetical to...but that would require me to remember the titles of the ones I liked LOL...I don't think I could manage that so well.

I agree. We should probably be able to pick our favorite top 10 or top 20, then I think I'd keep mine alphabetized. I think it would make it much easier. I like having many interests because I think it makes it more interesting here, but it is SO hard to stay organized. Sometimes you forget some of your interests because it gets boring scrolling through aimlessly... If nothing else, we should at least be able to keep the interests in alphabetical order.

Also, there are certain categories that are about the same thing, like you mentioned. There is a MyLot and then a MyLot.com... An eBay and another eBay category as well... If they could mesh the very similar categories such as these together I think it would make things MUCH easier!

If any thing they should combine the ones that are around. I hate that there is so many intrests on the same subject. You shouldn't be able to start an intrest on ebay because there already is one. Or start a new intrest on mylot because there already is one.
If I could organize my intrests it would be by what I like most and on down. With the most popular one being in the top.

That does get frustrating too...only it's the way things are set up. Like I have the interests "friends", taken at face value, one would assume it's about friendships but it's not. It's about the tv show "Friends". But the bigger categories of the interests aren't shown so it gets hard to tell the difference. Plus some things get stuck in odd categories...like I have 'life' as a hobby. I do think they would be able to find some way to streamine things though.

I have seen duplicates of several interest groups. I have posted in the not as popular one a few times before. They get a lot fewer responses when you post them in the wrong one. I would be nice if we could have a top 20 used interests section.

would be ok with me. Also alphabetically would be alright too.
Whatever way that people would be able to find them the
easiest I think would be the best way. Right now things are
kind of scattered and I don't even know what my own interests
are because I have so many. I even forget sometimes.

Yeah, organizing in way of 'favorite ones' is the best option. Coz we tend to post more and more to same interests which are more interesting ;-) for us.

I wish they would alphabetize the interests and my friends list. It would make it so much easier to find stuff! I get so frustrated when I can't find what I am looking for. Having to wade through hundreds of interests to find the one you want is silly. It is also frustrating to have several different "sections" of the same interest, like your ebay example. There should just be one Ebay interest group. That would make things flow more smoothly.

Yea, I would like to have my favorite ones I use the most listed on top. And then all the rest listed alphabetically.
I would also like to be able to choose a 'list view' instead of the picture view,
So I could see them all on one page.
I actually think mylot should somehow combine all the interests that have the same names.

i would just be happy if they COMBINED all the ebays into 1 ebay!! or heck make it to where i can look through my interest faster by listing more on a page when i go through them.. hmm i would prob do them by alphabetically since i would know the name already but it would be easier to find the best one to put it in by popularity

i'm having a hard time earlier too when i want to past a discussion regarding medicine. how i wished it will be arranged alphabetically. i think that will make it easier for us. and like our homepage, we also have something on the side where we could we top interests. that will make it more user friendly don't you think. well i hope mylot will be able to do something about this. have a good day foxyfire33. and hope you had a great birthday(you did have your birthday just recently right? hope i'm not wrong.

I would definately put my interests in alphabetical order, sometimes I want to start a discussion and cant because I can find the interest I'm looking for. It takes me forever just looking for it. I wish there was a place you could just type in your interest, to help in the search for it. Just in case it wasn't in your interests section.

I definately don't like the way they have things like Travel as (travel, traveling, traveled, etc..). I think They should have Travel "main category", then a Sub group with the "country", then state, then town, then interest in that town. (just an example)
I also think it would be nice if the catagories would stay seperate when you go to post a discussion so it is easier to find the one you want. I think if it was more organized it would be easier to pick a category to post in that really interest you.
