Hey I'm a little bored here in this summer vacation, so much that I'm acctuatly starting to missing algebra, I know it's bad, so I was thinking that there might be some student who would like a little help to do a little math :).. if there is just give a response and and a problem, and I will try to give a solution and a good describtion of how I did find it :)

Try to give me some problems and I will try to be as describful with what you need to do with them.. like my other comment might be a good idea for your to read, for there is a little about fractioning and if you doens't think that we covered the subject well enought post some more problems with fractioning ;)

well I have some math operations that I don't know how to do them I was really good in math but I just forgot how to solve them. here are some operations hopefully you can help me. 1/5 + 1/7 = 1/6 + 1/8 = reduce 15/22 to it's lowest terms. 16/9 is equal to ? y-7 =8 2(x-y)=8 where x=6 2y(4-x)=x/2 where x=2 (1/3)y2 +12=5x where x=3 can you help me by giving me a solution ! please thank you.

1) 1/5 + 1/7 = 12/35 when you are using factions always remember to have a common denominator, the easiest way to find the common denominator is to multiply the denominator with each other and as I did in this problem. 2) 1/6 + 1/8 = 14/48 = 7/24 same describtion as above 3) 15/22 = 7½/11 = 2½/3(2/3) I'm not tottally sure with this one, but when you try to reduce all you need to do is to divide with a number that both the denominator and the nominator can "go into". 4) 16/9 = y-7=8 16/9 = y = 15 0 = y-16/9 = 15 0 = y = 15+ 16/9 0 = y = 135/9 + 16/9 y = 151/9 Solve this as an eqation, where you isolate y on the one side and the numbers on the other site. 5) 2(x-y)=8 where x=6 2(6-y)=8 12-2y=8 4=2y 2=y y=2 Just replace x with 6 and this problem should be easy enough. remember when you multiply between parentases that you need to multiply with the number thats at fron with all the roots within the parentases 6) 2y(4-x)=x/2 where x=2 2y(4-2) = 2/2 2y(4-2) = 1 8y-4y = 1 4y = 1 y = 1/4 The same as the one above you just replace x with 2 and then you remember your parentases. 7) (1/3)y2 +12=5x where x=3 (in this problem I take it that you mean y^2 and not 2y) y^2 + 36 = 45 y^2 = 9 Y^2 = 3 when you have a fraktion anywhere in your equation you can multiply everything by the denominator and then you get rid of the fraction, like I did in the problem above ps. it is inportant to remember to multiply to both sites of the equation.. I hope you can understand and learn of what I did here. In case I'm wrong in anything please correct me, so I doesn't make that mistake when I start in school again.
