I tied up my kids

It's not what you think! My kids were arguing like CRAZY so to show them how to work together I tied their hands together with the tie from my robe. Then I had them do simple chores like make their beds, brush their teeth, etc. Well.....then we went to the grocery store later in the day. The kids started arguing and I gave them a look. My youngest says, in front of the cashier, "Mom. Please don't tie us up again." AAAAaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Oh no! I had to explain really fast to the cashier. I was mortified.

WOW you are just a very wise mom. I should write them down so that when my friends asked me how to handle their kids i can show this post to them.... that's funny though, but very informative. thank you, wisemom!!

Funny! My mom used to tell me that nylons and duck tape don't leave marks! That was all she had to say to get me to be quite or stop. Not that she ever did it but just the thought scared me! I have put my step kids in a room together and told them to work it out. They do no problems, but I like your idea too!

Your Mom sounds like my kind of lady! (kidding!) I really don't know if there's anything that will get them to quit fighting. Maybe we should look into hypnotizing them!

Man, I would have been mortified too. So, how long did they have to stay tied together at the wrist before they were let free?

ha! They complained so much being tied together, it took all my patience to keep them that way for only about an hour. I threatened to keep them tied up longer next time.

That is so funny. Don't you love what kids say. I have a 2 year old she talks but I haven't been embarrassed yet. So we will see. That is pretty funny though a good way to teach them.

That is really funny! I can imagine the look on your face when that was said! Although its probably unconventional, I can see how that tying up thingy would work! It teaches them to work together instead of against each other and the results will be easier to achieve. Luckily it was in front of a cashier and not in front of a law enforcement officer.

Oh God. That's true, I hadn't thought of it actually being worse somehow. Guess I did get lucky it was in front of a cashier! LOL
