The garter and the bouquet

What did/will you do when the time comes to give those away? Many people go the route of the groom under the dress getting the garter...tossing the bouquet... But today I heard a story of a different kind. A friend of mine attended a wedding last weekend. After the first dances, they invited all the married couples out onto the floor for a dance. As the song played on, the DJ asked couples to leave the dance floor based on how long they'd been married. The last couple still dancing had been married for 44 years. They were given the garter and the bouquet. I think that's such a sweet way to do it! So...how about you? Did you do the traditional thing? I'd never heard of this and thought it was great!
