Weaning the Baby.....!!!

my friend is desperately trying to wean her 1year 2 month old baby from her breast feed...but it is just adding to her and the baby,s agony..well my son had left quite easily when he was 2years old i had used coffee powder and he hated the bitter taste...yesterday whole night her baby cried she had the coffee powder also...how did you wean your child? at what age did you stop breast feeding the baby (weaning)? any tips for easy weaning please?

My sons pretty much weaned themselves at about 6 months, they wanted the bottle.
Have her offer a cup "like a big girl", point out other children drinking from cups. Don't make her feel bad for not wanting the cup but get her interested in it. That might work.
