The Cost Of Living - Affect You?

Lately the cost of living has shot through the roof, not only in my area but in the UK as a whole. Being only 18 year old I find this a staggering problem. Finacially I have yet to find my feet in the world and the surge in rising prices for everything, from petrol to food is extraordinary. It may not seem a lot to the well off population, but for normal people like myself it is really starting to pinch at my sides. I don't often get involved in politics much, its normally a game I leave to others to discuss but I just wanted everyone else's input on this matter, to see what they think. - Is this down to Gordon Brown, or is this just a credit crunch the now? - Are you struggling to meet ends meet? - Does it have an impact on your family life? If you have any thoughts or feelings on this topic then go ahead and discuss them here. I would really like to know if others feel the same. Thanks!
