How do you strategize in Addiction Solitaire?

I love this game. I loved Addiction Solitaire before it even came to pogo.com. One thing I do is when I get a free space to put a 2, before I move a 2 into that slot I will do the moves in my head to see which one will uncover another space for another 2. Sometimes I mess up though and end up not getting the space I expected. Do you look ahead to see what the moves will be or do you just click the squares that are highlighted and ready to move?
