Checking Out Scams and Hoaxes

Do you ever receive something suspicious and check it out? I do. My email gets flooded with fake messages "from eBay" or "from Amazon.co.uk" saying that my account has been suspended, a buyer is mad at me, someone wants access to my personal bank account, etc., etc. With the eBay messages, I forward the message to spoof AT ebay DOT com to make sure that the message is a scam. Another resource for checking out online hoaxes and urban legends is: http://snopes.com Do you have any scams or hoax stories to share? What do you do when you receive such news?

I think I've gotten one email scam from ebay one time, and I sent to them and had them check it out and sure enough it was a scam. I get fake email from someone saying they are from paypal all the time, they are always wanting me to update my account or saying that someone tried to use my credit card on it or something like that. I always send them to spoof at paypal dot com too and its always a fake its never from them either. I don't ever give them any of my information, because thats what they want so they can get into your account and do whatever.

No one needs to have the headache of identity theft or having their personal private information stolen! As the grandmotherly saying of years gone by goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!" Thanks for your reply!
