Okay here's the deal.. I've been trying to loose weight for a year now and have only dropped like 5 lbs.. So my husband and i decided to go vegitarian and only have meat once or twice a week. So far it's been going pretty good, but trying to eat healthier is so much more expensive. How do i loose weight when I go to school 2-3 days in the evening during the week, Work full time, and take care of a famliy of four.. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Isn't meat supposed to be more expensive than veggies? So by going vegetarian, you don't need to spend as much. But I'm sure food prep takes a lot longer and you'll have to eat less delicious food. I guess you can snack on fruits throughout the day. Nuts are a little expensive. But fruits and milk are cheap and easy to carry around right? You might also want to have vegetable soup for dinner. It makes you full plus it's cheap and easy to make.

A pedometer is a motivator. You walk and it counts your steps and the calories comsumed!

Meat is more expensive, but we also buy tofu and vegetarian meat to make up for the eating meat feeling and that's where it gets expensive, plus the fact that all the food such as rice, bread, flour and noodles have to be whole wheat and those can get a bit pricy too.

I don't know if you can still get them anymore, but in my youth,my sister bought a plastic workout set,you just put it on under your regular cloths and work or walk around for a few hours a day,or sleep in it at night, and you sweat the weight off. depending on where you most want to loose it,that is the piece you wear. she lost 10 lbs in one week, when she got to her right weight, the set was stored till she needed it again. hope this helps.

the main thing she always said, was that to make it work, and like you,she did not find it to cumfy, was to make sure you took a long walk away from home,so you could not cheat and take the cloths off before you got home. you say yours is only the waist belt, hers biggest problem was the butt and thighs,so you can see where this was a bit hard. I used to kid her no end as well,so I guess being a big brother can be both fun and scary.lol but it did work for her. good luck. Many Blessings.

Lessen your carbohydrates, but then you'll need it because you're in school. It's food for the brain. Well maybe you can eat your usual carbo in the morning at breakfast and then as the day ends, dinner should have little or no carbohydrates. Do brisk walks for an hour or any repetitive activities for one hour. I say one hour because when you're repeating actions for 30 minutes, It is only on the 30th minute that the oxygen centers of the body are opening (aerobic centers). This is when oxygen burns fats. So if you extend a bit for another 30 minutes (like you're doing the whole thing for an hour), then you'll be burning fat for 30 minutes on your 2nd 30 minutes. But I guess your hectic schedule can pretty much loose weight already.

well the weight loss program that u r gonna adopt to depends on the actual intensity of overweight that u r right now. If severely overweight you may do any light exercise like walking, doing light yogasanas ,playing some kinda games like table tennis, badminton etc. It will help u reduce ur weight effectively to a certain level. but if ur body is in quite the required shape and u r only lightly overweight then u better try some thing more severe like jogging, going to gym(thatsexpensive),doing a few heavy exercises like squats . this will help u get to the next level of ur body shape.............so it all depends on how much overweight u r!! have a nice day!

DO you drink sodas?? Cut those. Water is a better substitue, or juices!! You must need energy with a family and school :) Fruits give you more energy overall, also (HEALTHY)carbs. My across the street nighboor has a 1 year old baby, and she holds him, and makes a rule to walk a certain number of laps around her house a day. She says it's the best exercise!! Especially using her child as a weight :)

do you have time for a walk a couple of times a week? i think you hit the nail on the head though, eating healthier (and less food) is the best idea. i am unable to walk alot due to severe arthritis but i do a lot of stretches (i am planning to do this with weights eventually) and that helps keep me fit.

I found online that the simplest exercise for busy people like us is walking. You have to set a goal like on how many steps per day and increase gradually. I also want to lose weight, i work at night and can't help but put on pounds. I walk when i go to the laundry. During breaks, i walk to the nearest convenience store even if i don't have anything to buy. Scrubbing the floor, window shopping, or when you buy grocery you can also use it as weights. When you feel hungry you can drink water first, a doctor (dr. oz from oprah)said that our body may interpret thirst as hunger. He also said we can eat walnut before eating a meal so we won't eat as much. Walnuts are good for the brain too.
