Well...I'm old enough to remember life without computers...(49, in case you were wondering)and I used to spend much more time outside, going for walks, spending time with people, reading...so life without computers wouldn't be so bad. But then again, once you get used to something, it is hard to imagine what we'd do without it!

I have never thought it before. We'll feel quite aweful at first becouse I have addict to it. It will take me at least one month to get used to it. Then I will find some thing interesting and meaningful. But I don't think it is too bad because I have waste so much time surf web.

When i was growing up we didn't have computers, microwaves, cable, vcr, dvd players, ipods, cell phones and i'm not that old. I would live again but after awhile you get use to it. What you don't have you can't miss.

Even though I spend a lot of time working and playing on my computer (and managing our household finances), I think I would be fine. I'm a writer, so there are still ways for me to earn an income no matter if I have a computer or not. It would take longer, however, because I can't seem to type as quickly using a typewriter in comparison to a computer keyboard . . . and the mail system is a heck of a LOT slower than email. All in all, though, the adjustment wouldn't be impossible here.

I would catch up on my huge backlogged reading list, take more walks, spend more time with my kids, maybe cook more from scratch. Computers are great and I love the things I can do online, but sometimes they do suck up time that I could be using on more important things.

Amen sister! I didn't even thing about cooking from scratch...good one! Which is what I should have been doing for the past half hour instead of mylotting! haha!

Well, if ALL of us didn't have computers then I think we'd get over the internet disease sooner or later. At first though, we'd feel the sudden idleness, the sudden time stand-still moment of not knowing what to do with all this time in our hands. Then sooner or later, we realize that we could walk around, we realize that there are things out there that we haven't noticed before. Then we feel that it's good to be out of our cramped rooms, there's what they call fresh air. Next, we realize that we have friends in flesh. That we could hang out just talking without our fingers typing. Then after a while, we realize we don't need computers or the internet to live! Thus, real FREEDOM occurs.. hahahahahaha...

Hi There! Good Evening! I think it depends on how you badly need a computer at home. Before, we only have dial up internet connection at home so I don’t really surf the internet but when I started working, I signed up for cable Internet connection and I use it to check emails or do activities. But to tell you honestly, I can live without internet for such a long time then. When my boyfriend moved away in another country to work, I would really really go crazy if I don’t chat with him every other day so now, Internet is a must for me! Also, I started joining money making sites and I need to be active. I just realized a while ago that I need my connection to be always up when my cable company cut our internet service this morning because the bill was not yet settled. I forgot to pay the bill because we have been busy preparing for Christmas and New Year! But anyhow, we paid it this afternoon and I called them right away so they can activate it. Alas! It got activated, I was so excited to check my emails and other stuff.. So right now, no I can’t live without internet at home! hehehe Thanks for the discussion. Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

I would have to find another way to make a bit of extra money outside of the computer. I would also have o begin writing real letters more because I would not be able to e-mail anymore. It would be different, but I think I could handle it.

maybe i would be a bookworm or someone who excels in playing an instrument. I'm not motivated enough to do either one and out of boredom i may get to explore things around me which i think would be more productive:)

Add me to the going crazy! I have no life I'm a Stay at Home Mom and I met my Hubby online so it's hard to even fantom not having a computer in our home. Plus we'd have to drive some poor librarian crazy somewhere asking all sorts of questions that I now can just type in a sentence into a search engine and find the answer or post to an online forum for advice from an undetermined number of people. Whereas if I was to ask my mother-in-law or my mom she'd say she didn't remember.

I think it is just the same with me. Now I find myself even can not live without computers. I need computers to stock a lot of information like my pictures,my music and so on. I need to play games on the internet, and I need to contact with my friends and get to know the current affairs on the internet. I really rely on computers more and more.

probably just sit around doing nothing. computers shaped and continues to shape our lives therefore without computer, our world would truly be different from what we are used to now.
