My husband and I had another debate and it was about people who go out and deal with wild animals. These animals are completely wild and these guys get up close so that they can find out the life styles of these different wild life creatures. You know the people that handle snakes, handle crocodiles and animals like this. Once again my husband classified them as nut cases. I don't believe they are nut cases. They love their job and are trying to get the message out to people all over the world to take care of our wildlife. So tell me what do you think. Do you think these people are crazy or do they just want to help people be more informed about the wild life?

I think to a degree what they do is really dangerous. They can't play around with those animal cause they will let them know that they are pissing them off. I have seen some of those shows and wonder what goes through their mind. I know that they are trying to show people how these animals live in the wild. But there have been some that I would not be the one doing that. I wouldn't say they are crazy but they are want to know more information on some animals. Then to know could cost them their lives too. But it's all in the name of education.

That is the thing. They want to educate people and let them know about the wild animals. Steve Irwin always said not to do what he was doing because these are wild animals. He made that remark on a constant basis. Letting people know that what he wanted to do is educate people about wildlife so that they would have a better understanding of wild animals.

So if something happens to him while filming then people will know that it is something that you really don't do. I know I would not be the one messing around with wild animals that would attack me. I rather watch someone else do it. Have a good one.

I don't think these nature lovers are crazy although there are a few who may border on it :) Personally the closest I get to 'wild life' are the numerous possum and raccoons we've trapped in live traps and the dozens of photos I've taken of the deer in the back yard - they make sure I keep a safe distance as the run off if I get too close.

Hi Faith, I am always fascinated when I watch these people get close to wild life. What pops up in my mind is Steve Irwin and his love for wild life. I don't think of these people as crazy but simply as their love for wild life is over powering to them.

I too am/was a great admirer of Steve Irwin - I'm pleased to see that his wife and daughter are continuing the great work he did in educating people on wild life.

it is a dangerous job but it is an important one for science, and I do not think they are crazy at all.

I don't think they are crazy at all either. They just love wild life and want to teach people about them so they understand them more.

what they are doing is really scary. but someone needs to do it. i salute people who are nuts (as what your husband said lol) for they are giving their lives just to protect and to take care of this wild animals. just like steve irwin... he is one of a kind. he syudied the life of this wild animals and try to protect them. unluckily something not good happened to him but still i salute him. they maybe nuts but what they are doing is not easy

I think it depends on the wild life. I've handed snakes (non-poisonous) and never been bitten (tho they have struck at me.) I've also dealt with feral cats (have some living with me.) I'm not sure I'd care to make a living from the job, but I think they are brave, hard working people that are doing a job that needs to be done.

Hi ElicBxn, That is the way I look at these people. They do have a love of wild life and you can see it when you watch them working. They also respect the wild life and know if they make a mistake it could very well be their last one.
