It's true and I believe that our destiny is in our hands. You have to however have the right conviction all the time and not let go. We very resign ourselves to our fate when things go wrong or do not go the way we want them to. that is where we loose our conviction.

[i]nakshathra [/i]I donot believe in either of the two. I feel it's a kind of blend of two. If we go by alchemist how do you explain one of two exact same calibred candidates getting a job! Does the loser have less urge to get the job!! WE would then say fate or destiny it is!! Again, my deepest desire is to become a NASA scientist or even to marry Brad Pitt...is any of these possible?? Again if you want to top an examination we can, if you have the deepest desire to excel. So, I feel, it's a blend of both under normal frame of mind. We cannot go out of our way to desire something impossible and still hope it gets materialised. Thanks for a nice discussion.

I had read the book "Alchemist" which was recommended by my hubby, i liked it though not able to accept it....and yes, it is true in a way that if we have deepest desires and provided we take some initiative to fullfill them with sincere efforts, they do come true but i dont believe in the concept of Alchemist, its quite like magic, which i dont believe in
