Do you carry only the credit card when you go out?

Though I have a credit card, I have a habit of taking cash wherever I go - either it be shopping or filling fuel to my vehicle. If I have to pay a lesser amount, I pay in cash. Otherwise I swipe the card. My husband never likes to carry cash in hand. He has only few bucks in his wallet just for the purpose of any emergency use. Otherwise he uses his card only. How about you? Do you depend mostly on your card? Or do you have some cash in your wallet always?

No cash for me please, LOL. I hate to carry cash other then a dollar in change. Cash burns holes in my pockets and before I know it, it's gone and I have no clue where it has went. So I use my bank card for everything, that way I have a record of where it went and when. That and it's not signed on the back, instead in big black permanent marker I wrote.......C.I.D. so if it's stolen, they can't use it without the pin or showing their I.D. Hubby carries cash, but he never puts it in his wallet but deep in his front pocket. The reason for this is, pickpockets go for the wallet which hasn't anything in there they can really use.

Your idea is a good one..And yes, using a card has an advantage of maintaining the records.

I always carry cash in my pocket. I would never leave home with out it. There so many things tht one cannot buy here with credit cards. More than that I would simply prefer to pay by cash rather than using a card.

That is true..Not all shops accept cards in certain countries. At these times, it is important to have some cash at hand.

I do the same as you. I pay cash if it doesn't amount to very much. Otherwise, I swipe my credit card. I rarely write a check when I am out even though I take my checkbook with me, too. You never know what might come up, so I like to be prepared.

I don't actually use my card on common usage. I usually cash out my groceries and other bills. I only use my credit card for materials that cannot be reached by my monthly pay.

I usually only carry one credit card and some cash. It comes from when I was small that my mother always told me that I should have a little cash at all time because "you never know". Those words were filled with mystery and my mind always tried to come up with all sorts of scenarios where "you never know" would apply. Once my car did break down and I had to hail a taxi to get home so I guess she was right. I don't like to use the credit card much because I lose track of all the swiping and then at the end of the month I get a bill showing me I've overspent. Sadly it's easier to swipe than to pay cash!

i really don't use my credit card often. I only use it to buy groceries and when I shop. so when I eat out i usually pay in cash. So i always bring some cash in my wallet. It's also the safest cause there are times that your credit card wont work for some sort of problem you know how electronics are. you can't really trust them at all times. so it's just better to be prepared. I also give tips so I always have cash in my wallet. Though not that big amount. Just enough to get me through the day or week.

I carry the cash, debit card and the credit cards. But I carry all of this just because it all sits in my wallet all the time. I don't really use it. In day to day life I hardly use cash, credit or debit. when I go for shopping I carry all this but I use cash only. Credit and debit cards are just to make me feel secure.

Well let me tell you I do neither!! I do not own a credit card and refuse to have one! I do have a line of credit which I put a block on so i cannot use it anymore as I have racked that bill up way too high!!!! Now, All I carry is my debit card. I carry a few bucks change on me just in case I want a coffee and that's it. Everything else I can pay on debit. this way i also feel secure that if my wallet gets stollen or misplaced, there is nothing of value in it that can be used. If a theif wants a few coins and some pictures of my family then go for it!!

That is good to carry a debit card rather than a credit card. This also restricts the usage of the card..You may not buy unnecessary things. No hidden charges..nothing..good idea..

I always use my card wherever I go. I used to always carry about $20 on me until I realized that cash can't be replaced unlike a card, which if gets stolen then all you have to do is call up the company and let them know what happened. The only time I make sure I have cash on me is if I go out to eat with my friends.

i prefer most to have a cash than credt card, because when you got a credit card it has an interest in which you will pay more than what you've borrowed from the compny where you get your credit card, although some people says that credit card has an advantage, when it comes to the point that there is an emergency and you don't have money on your hand or on your pocket you may use it but when your going to pay for your bills you'll see the increase because of the interest that you'll going to pay that's why others prefer to save money on their own way.

Oh damn. The last time I carried credit cards with me I swiped more than I could pay. I do regret that until now. These days I just carry cash with me when I'm out. But just enough for what I'm planning to buy for that day.

i really don't like the thought of bringing my credit card, especially if i'm shopping. i prefer bringing cash. the reason why i don't like bringing my credit card is that i usually ended up buying things that i unexpectedly see. i ended up spending much. so if i'm going to buy clothes or stuff, i would bring cash and leave my credit card just to be sure i don't overspend. i bring my credit card when i'm going to buy appliances. because usually using credit card to buy appliances has 0% interest that you can pay up to 12 months. have a good day smilyn:)
