what foods do you enjoy eating the most? there are certain foods from my childhood that bring back strong memories every time i eat them. like ham and scalloped potatoes, potato chowder, turkey dinner, blueberry pancakes. do you carry on tradition with your own family and make certain items that hopefully your own children will remember fondly?

Any of htose items will remind me of my child hood also apple crisp and chocolate oatmeal drop cookies. There are a number of those things that remind me of days long ago.

My favorite comfort foods are veggie pot pie, homemade cookies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and pancakes. These are all foods I love and make pretty regularly.

Chicken, meatloaf, pot roast, a nice homemade soup, come to my memories of childhood. Mom was a great cook. My children are adults now, but they remember certain dishes from their childhood that they request I make. I've shared the ways I've done the dishes that they recall. It makes me feel good as a Mother to know that they have these memories. I now have a grandson asking me how the dishes are prepared that he likes of mine so he can cook them.

I enjoy a nice sit down family meal that consists of roast beef and mashed potatoes. I especially enjoy these meals in a colder time of year, like say around Christmas time. I feel that these are good comfort foods for me. You mentioned blueberry pancakes. Yes, they are quite enjoyable to me and comforting as well. I would just like my four year old son to be present with us at family dinners for years to come and remember the special moments we have together with some good family meals.

I either eat too much sweet things - sweets and chocolate - or I go for salty snacks, or soup which is also salty.

I don't have any children yet; however, I enjoy comfort foods. The traditional turkey dinner, meatloaf (made with ground turkey or chicken) and Ben & Jerry's ice cream are some of my favorites; they aren't about childhood memories, but, rather, they provide a sense of comfort and possibility.
