I have worked all my life and now that i have osteoarthritis in my lower back and can't work anymore, Social Security Disability tells me i can't have my disability even though i paid into it for 30 years. They keep wanting to deny me my benefits even though all my medical records state that I have degenerative joint disease at L5 S1 in my lower back. Degenerative joint disease is osteoarthritis, and to top it off I also have high blood pressure Tell me what you think about this. Are you disabled too and having a problem getting your social security disability. Any feed back would be appreciated.

I feel for you. I didn't even try for SS as I have my retirement from the school district, although that isn't much since the osteo made me retire early. It really sucks that SS is being so cruel, they tell us over and over if we are disabled it's there but then when you are disabled they deny the claim. That totally sucks

Social Security *always* turns the majority of applicants down the first couple of times so, if you don't already have a lawyer, get one. He will be able to get you your benefits and get them retroactive back to the original date of your disability. I have seen people fight them for years but eventually they have won so don't give up.
