Trip to Jamaica

Canada

Hello my fellow MyLotters. In November, I am taking my Mom and 5 year old daughter on a trip to Montigo Bay, Jamaica. The resort if very child friendly with waterslides, lazy river, ice cream parlors and a kids club. I am very excited to go as this will only be my second time in an all inclusive resort. I have a few questions though before I leave. The first one is, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in Jamaica as an outting? I want to take my daughter to go swimming with the dolphins but is there anything else there that myself (26), my daughter (5) and my mother (55) can do as an outting? Also, when I went to Cuba, I brought a bunch of toiletries with me to give to the maids and resort workers. Cuba is a very poor country and they were quite pleased to get those gifts, however, Jamaica isn't poor and I would assume that giving them toiletries would be disrespectful to them. What should I bring or do to show the maids our appriciation? I had someone suggest bringing some Kardinal Official CD's with me as I am from Canada and they really love the Canadian Rapper. My problem is I feel like they would already have access to his music. Please, any suggestions would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

I am sure that you are really looking forward to your trip to Jamaica with your daughter and your mum. I think that you in enjoy going in the swimming pool and along the lazy river. I suggest that you go sightseeing in a local town and see if you can meet some of the local people. You might want to go wildlife watching. If you do go swimming with wild dolphins like I did in New Zealand you will find it a special experience. I have heard that there is a waterfall that tourists like to go to. For the maids I think they they will not be so wealthy so they might appreciate some perfume, a bottle of maple syrup, some Canadian music or just some money. I am sure that they don't get paid very much. I hope that you will have a wonderful time.
