Do you drink water straight out of the tap

I could never dream of doing that because most of the water supply in India (where I live) is not clean enough to drink. I use a water purifier and only then is it ready to drink. Several people I know boil the water as it is effective. Do you drink water straight off the tap or do you purify it in some way?

i am lucky living in places where water is considered one of the cleanest in the world. anyway, i grew up in the souther part of the philippines- davao city wherein water is really clean and is considered as one of the cleanest in the world. i do drink tap water at home there. i now live in sweden and their water is also in the record of being really clean and safe, so, i drink straight from the tap as well. but when i am going to travel somewhere else, i buy bottled water instead. better safe than sorry. have a nice day! anne

In Canada, we drink it out of the tap, but in summer, we have a water purifier attached to the tap, because when it does not rain as much, we get algae and the water does not taste as good. Our city is upgrading its water purifying planet so that will not be a problem much longer. In some cities, the water tastes so bad, they had to buy purified water, but not in Winnipeg.

Hello, pitstop! We collect the water from the tape and put in the filter for filtration and collect the filtered water in bottles and preserve in the fridge for use as and when required.thanx.

I used to when I was growing up in the north but, now that I'm down south in this rural area and don't trust the water management people as far as I can throw a gator, I drink bottled water. My daughter recently had a baby and she uses bottled water for mixing the baby's formula.

yes, you are very correct. chennai is known for pollution of water. you ought to be careful. but in our village, we pump water to our overhead tank from a well. the well is adequately covered and cleaned at an interval of 15 days. so i confidently drink water directly from the tap. bye and take care

We can't drink straight from the tap too; it's not clean enough. In fact, most of us have a water purifier/ filter outside the house, to filter the water before it flows into the house. Sometimes the water is muddy; so much so that it once dirtied the clothes we had placed inside the washing machine! So can you imagine us drinking water from the tap? Even though the water has gone through the filtering process, we still boil it before drinking, just in case!

I drink bottled water. I have been doing this for many years now. Tap water is sooooooooo gross to me and I just don't trust it anymore. I have noticed with our water if it sits for a couple of days it turns orange...something just isn't right with that. I have no idea why it does that.

I will not do it either. Because tube in our country are made of iron and the water is not clean enough because of second-pollution. But i hear that it is feasible in America becuse the tube is made of copper. Americans will not face up with the problem of second-pollution.

i too am an indian and i cant think of drinking water just like that from the tap. we use a water purifier at home. it uses a membrane technology through which it purifies water. u feel reallly safe and secure when u drink purified water...

I drink it out of the tap which is okay to do in Houston, but there are some places where i won't do that especially if it's a very rural area and the water is discolored like in Huntsville, TX or anywhere in Louisiana.

I used to drink tap water when I was still a kid. Later on, we started using filtered water. Even with filtered water, I still got Amoebiasis. Maybe I ingested it from somewhere. Our government made tests and said the water is potable. I believe them but I wouldn't want to risk myself of having Amoebiasis again. The pain it caused was excruciating. As they say, "it's better to be safe than sorry".
