the worst accident you have ever seen?

I've never seen anything like a major car accident or anything like that, but I have seen some fairly gruesome injuries as the first aid person at a die cast company where I worked. The worst one I ever saw was a man who came in the day a machine misfired and shot molten metal all over him. He walked in to my office with his clothing hanging in shreds from his body. Since it was a winter day, I had him stand outside to help cool the burns while I called the ambulance. He ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over about 75% of his body. Luckily he was wearing a face shield and gloves so that his hands and face weren't badly burned. He eventually recovered and returned to work, but every time I saw him after that all I could think of was him standing there in those tattered clothes.
