church? a building or what is it?

what is a church anyway? a building with a steaple on top? or a cross on top? is that why it is called a church?

in general the word "church" is just a name for a building, where the christains gather together to worship.. but in my opinion..i world rather want to take it like this....church is you and me..its the individual...we dont necessarily have to enter the building to worship all the time..we can worship and praise God whenever or wherever we feel like...
