We got a new family member yesterday.....!!!!! A little female Jack Russell, not too sure how old she is but somewhere around 10-12 weeks I think. Some one had dumped 2 of them in a new housing estate and one of the trades men who was working on one of the house found them so he went knocking on peoples door trying to find anyone who owned them and couldn't find anyone so my sister-in-law took them in. They are a bit skinny so we have wormed them and hope that they put on a bit of condition soon. I am just so mad that someone could do this to any animal!!!! Im sure if they tried hard enough they would have been able to find them homes. Anyway just have to check with the pound now to make sure that they are not missing instead of dumped and if so then it looks like my 2 puggy's have a new baby sister :)and my sister-in-law with give the other one a home. But gee this makes me so mad when people do this!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the new family members! It is sad that someone was so careless to just dump them like that. My first cat was dumped at a factory and ended up losing half his foot before my boyfriend found him. How could someone put him there where there isn't any homes the may take him in or maybe give him food. My now kitty was a stray we found and took in. I also help out the other cats that are wild around here. I get them fixed feed them and get their shots so they will be okay. The vet here gives me a discount to help out these animals that many can' actually live in a house anymore but still deserve to have something. I just couldn't do that to any animal. But luckily this puppy has you now to love him. oxoxo Vicki

Yeah Vicki i know what you mean as this is the same at my mum's place with cats too she was feeding a few strays but it started to get out of hand and their was few cats that just kept showing up with kittens and we used to catch them and find them homes but in the end we got the mother cat and had to take her to the shelter as she wasnt friendly and you couldn't handle her so it was the best thing for her and there was 2 males that my mum was able to tame and had them fixed and they are now her family pets and now all the stray cats are gone but I think at one stage she was paying more in animal food then they were to feed themself!

The costs can be really high. I have been lucky though to have the local food bank gives me a lot of donated food and I will get coupons for nearly free cat food too to help out. It is sad that it can get out of control. There was a time that people started to dump the cats in the middle of the night right at my house because they knew that they would either be found homes or I would look after them. Then if no fixed they will bring back babies. Sad what people do to this poor things.

I am very happy to report that the next morning after posting this discussion i rang our local pound and they said that the pups had gotten out of their backyard and taken them self for a walk and the pound rang the owner and the he came over and picked them up so a very happy ending for everyone ... :)

Ppl need to remember that pets are like kids...you don't just dump them on the side of the street. I could never do that...heck, I'm the one that is always feeding them and taking care of them. I'm glad that they found a good home. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

I've been thinking about getting our Morgana chipped. She won't wear a collar and at least with a chip they would know who she belongs to if she should ever get out. ~~MY OWN PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF**

Yes that is how I feel too! Animal's have feelings just like people and i hate to see them being mistreated just breaks my heart but the 2 little guy's were lucky because I rang the animal shelter the day and they had been micro chipped and their owners very happy to have them back so this one had a happy ending

I really cannot understand how irresponsible people send unwanted dogs on the street, when there are a lot of animal organizations who are willing to help. If someone does not want any puppies, than spaying his animal is the solution. It does not involve a lot of money but it saves you time and money trying to home the puppies/kittens.

yeah I agree that people should have their animals desexed so that there are less unwanted animals and I truly can't understand how someone could do that to an animal as they have feels just like everyone else and need to be loved and wanted as well and if they don't want the animal any more then there is always someone who would just love to have them instead of just putting them out on the street it is just so cruel

The people who dump the puppy is so cruel. Instead of dumping the puppies around they should send them to shelter. At least, at the place there is someone who can take care for them and get adoption. Luckily the two puppies have you there.

Yeah no luckily as it turns out these 2 little babies had escaped from their backyard and the owner was so happy when the pound rang them up and let them know that they had been found
