Whew! No more sauna

My kitchen and my office have been like a sauna the past few days since hurricane Dolly hit the coast. It just seemed to suck all the air out of the atmosphere up here on the high plains.
I finally decided that even though my exhaust fan in the kitchen doesn't work, I could manually open it from the outside and let some air circulate through the kitchen. Then I put a fan in the window on the opposite wall and that helps draw cool air from the living room where my evaporative cooler is. Presto, no more sauna or as my son called "hot pocket" in the kitchen.
Then I found that if I set a fan in the hall blowing directly into the office it picks up cool air coming from the kitchen. Well there went all my good efforts to cut down on the electric bill, but I gotta breath! Fall will be here soon.
Are all parts of the country having unusually hot weather this year?

Hi my friend,
Sounds like you finally got your house cooled off.
I live in Illinois and it seems like we didn't get a spring here. It went from winter right into summer. We've had some really hot days here in the 90's and the humidity is awful! I'll sure be glad when fall gets here.
