Obama: What "change" are we supposed to "believe in"?

I'm neither a democrat nor a republican. Honestly, between Obama and McCain I'm not sure who to vote for, or whether I should even vote at all. I hope that Obama's supporters can clarify something for me. I have two questions for them. Obama's tagline is "change we can believe in". 1. What is the "change" Obama is talking about? Specifically. (After browsing his website and listening to speeches, I still can't tell) 2. In 2000, I voted Republican because they promised me small government and significant reductions in taxes and spending. They either lied or failed to deliver on that promise. In 2004, I voted Democrat because they told me they would help repeal the Patriot Act and end the war. Again, they either lied or failed to deliver. So like many Americans, I have trouble "believing" in a politician. Why should I believe in Obama, what makes him different? Thanks for your answers.

your going to be hard pressed to find it. It seems to me, and I'm using his own words, "fundamentaly change america", is more than just changing washington back to the minimal government by the people that was intended, but a transformation of the country itself. this frightens me in itself because it presents 2 possible scenarios. A transformation of the country to a europian styled socialist republic, or simply that he will get elected on the promise of "change" and when elected, we find that he truly does NOT have any plan at all.

Change we can believe in refers to a new way of thinking in Washington. Specifically, Barack Obama wants to end the war in Iraq, repeal tax cuts to the rich and redevelop/reform the tax code to get the rich to pay even more taxes. He is also wanting to change Health Care to cover all Americans and those who are living on our soil, but yet aren't citizens (legal or not). These are just a few of the major issues in which Senator Obama has promised a complete reversal from the current administration. DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A SUPPORTER OF BARACK OBAMA, NOR AM I A SUPPORTER OF JOHN MCCAIN.
