I need help with payments through PayPal!

Okay, so I decided the other day to try selling something on eBay, because it would be an interesting experience and a bit of extra money couldn't hurt. Well, it sold successfully at a decent price- yay. My problem is this:
Paypal hates me.
No, seriously.
I can not, for the life of me, figure out how you're supposed to "Claim" a payment. Does that only happen when you print out the shipping label?
Please help as soon as you can.

1. How do I claim a payment on PayPal?
2. Where do I find a straightforward tutorial on PayPal for future questions I'll have?
3. Help? Please?
4. What issues have you had with PayPal? What little things have tripped you up in the past?

You have to update your paypal account to a premier member. That way you can accept credit card payments. Because according to ebay rules the buyer can pay you anyway through paypal be a paypal balance, credit card, or bank account. Add a credit card and/or bank account to your paypal account.
