Jury Duty

My husband had to go for jury duty last week. He ended up only doing Monday and Tuesday because he didn't get picked for a trial. The bad part is that he actually wanted to do jury duty! Most people try to get out of it, and when someone wants it they can't get it..lol. He didn't want to go back out of town to work for the week is the reason he hoped he would get a trial. But they picked randomly and his name wasn't called.

I have sat on jury duty and found it very interesting!!! Too bad he didn't get picked as he sounds like he would have been a very good candidate! Maybe next time!

Yeah he said he thought it would be interesting to actually sit on a trail. Just to see what it's all about and how it all works. Who knows when he'll get picked again. Maybe he'll get to an actual trial next time.

I myself have had to cooperate in that as well. However I never got picked to serve on a trial or anything. It does happen once in a while to people, and you are right that some people want to get chosen while others don't. I personally don't want to be chosen to sit on a trial.

I'm glad you didn't get picked since you didn't really want to do it. Maybe you won't get called again anytime soon!

Well, due to Health reasons, the last time that I was called for Jury Duty, I had to get out of it, and have not been called since. I actually think it would be interesting to serve on one and be able to be in control of what happens to someone. But who knows... We will see what happens if I am ever offered a chance again.

Maybe you'll be able to take part the next time you're called, since you want to.

I have been called into serve on jury duty five times. But have only served twice. Before if you had a two week call you had to go in every day for those two weeks regardless of whether you were selected at all. I like how they have it now were you go in for one or two days and if you are not selected for a trial you only have to call in the night before. I actually found being on jury duty was fascinating and enjoyed it. Now they well not except me because I have a chronic cough that is very disruptive to them.

Yeah, I ask my husband what they said about people with health conditions. He said they asked everyone to come up and explain any and decided from there. I have some different things wrong and I don't know if I'd even be able to sit through a trial. Guess I'll find out what they say if the time comes.

This was the first time for my hubby, and I've never been called myself. I wonder how they had your name down twice..that is weird.

WOW! It does sound like a mess. I only go by one name so guess I'm safe on that score. I couldn't keep up with more than one name for myself..lol.

Hi sunnflr. Isn't that the way it always is? Those who actually want the experience of jury duty don't get selected. The ones who do get selected try to get out of it! I got picked for jury duty once. The crazy thing was it was for a case for someone that was actually a client with the child welfare agency where I was working. I had to inform the courts in advance that under no condition could I serve on that jury. They had me show up and watch the videos but assured me they wouldn't select me and they didn't.

Yeah my husband said they ask all those kinds of questions to rule people out for a jury. The part he went through sounded interestng.
