There is one pet in my life that I have never forgotten.

His name was Fluffy and he was the best dog a person could ask for. We got him when he was a puppy new born. When we went to look at the pups all the others were trying to get our attention but there was this one pup that refused to come out from under the sofa. Well, we moved the sofa and there was this pup that stole my heart away. This pup was the one we brought home with us. We watched him for a few days and then decided that his name just had to be Fluffy. Well, my son and he grew up together and Fluffy always was very protective of my son, Tyrone. To make a long story short we moved from North Dakota to Kentucky and once we got there we had to get a apartment for a short span of time. They didn't accept pets so we ended up letting my husbands nephew keep him and he lived out in the country. Well, my nephew said that he had let Fluffy out to go to the bathroom and about the time he was outside a gun went off. Now Fluffy was extremely gun shy and I had made sure and told my husbands nephew that. Fluffy took off and we never saw him again. I don't know how much time we looked for our Fluffy but we never saw him again. It took a long time for my son and I to get over losing our beloved pet.

Dear friend, When I was in school days we had squirrel as pet, it was well tamed and oven did according to our orders and most of kids at that time also liked it. It was pet for many as it was freely going on the trees and no much harm was done any my neighbours and most of them also feed it and liked to play with. I do also dogs as pets but this squirrel is much different from other pets. It was really a special pet for me and my neighbours. Even those relatives and friends who come to my house are concerned about the squirrel which we named as Lulu,Babu,Babul etc as many called their own names but it mostly came when some one called it Lulu.

That is pretty cool. There are squirrels around my house but none of them are as friendly as your Lulu. That is a special thing to remember indeed.

I think of all the pets (mostly cats) I've had, my favorite was my last cat, "Santa Claws". This was a feral orange cat that was found next to a dumpster as a kitten. Santa never learned to jump (hence the "Claws"). He would climb my leg to get to a counter. At 16, he still couldn't jump. I've had the best luck with feral cats. My son's current cat, Milo (from "Milo and Otis"), was a feral kitten I rescued from the path of a forklift in an Aluminum rolling plant where I was working.

That is a nice remembering. I also love cats and cats have a different way than dogs. I like the name you gave your Santa Claws. He sounds like he was a very nice cat.

That's a pathetic end to a gorgeous story of pets we keep. I can feel the amount of pains you must have suffered to let him stay with your husband's nephew and then again to know that it was lost. I had my pets as well and I can bet - you will hardly have any better moment in your lifetime than to pamper your pet.

I agree with you there. I have never let another pet stay any where. And pampering they do get. Fluffy though comes to me in my dreams and has since the day we lost him.

I also had a pet that has special place in my heart. She was my dog from time i was 5 to 18. She was very protective, yet never bit a soul. She loved to go for walks and didnt mind going to the vet. We could take her to the vet and let her sit at our feet with no leash, and dogs would be growlin and barkin at her and she just sat there. She was attached to my grandmas hip nad when my grandma went away to michigan for 2 wks, Misty just sat at the top of the stairs to the back door and waited. The only time she wasnt setting there was when she ate or went out to the bathroom. SHe was part collie, doberman, and shepherd, black with just a cpl swirls of brown through her...she finally started to get sick and my grandma couldnt afford the vet to get her help, so she made me take her to the shelter near by and say we found her...i die just thinking about what happened to her, but back then i didnt know as much about animal shelters as i do now, and i wouldnt have taken her if i did. I Cried for days that she was gone, and still love her very much.

There is a little dog always have his place in my heart,he only have a chinese name, feifei. He is the one who make me change my attitude to dog.He walk like a general, and always want to play with the dog bigger than him. He is so little, and one day when he went to a dog who looks like not very friendly just to say hello,he was bite by the big dog. After that day ,my mother always worry about that maybe the big dog has canine madness,so she said it is not safe to keep feifei in our home,so she send feifei to a friend of her who has more experience in pet. When I saw your post I can not help to miss him.

Yes, there are certain animals that leave their mark on our heart. And it sounds like your feifei was a force to be reckened with. I can just picture him the way you said he walked like a general. Just be happy for him that he has a good home although you would rather have had him there with you.
