what can you say about people only associated "emo" as a fashion?

i must say that they don't know what "emo" is... that people are stupid claiming that emo is only a fashion...

Yeah, that is a little ignorant. After all for all those who DONT know emo comes from the word emotional so it is not a trend it is a FEELING.

you got my point... somebody told me that he's an emo because of his style... but i found out that he is not into it... why? he hates emo songs... all that he listens are songs from the backstreet boys... eeeeeewwwww!!!!

if 'emo' means 'emotion' and everyone has emotions then aren't we all 'emo'? i think this term is nonsensical and way to generalized. it's like walking around and telling people that you're 'human'. i also fail to see how any style of clothing can be considered 'emotional'.
