would bring them down? What would you do if you were president to find solutions for food costs? What programs would you implement to bring about these changes?

I am afraid they are getting the higher prices for things and it will stay that way. I don't know what they can do.

I know that what is on sale or marked down is what I buy. I then plan my meals around what I have. We are having breakfast tonight for supper. I found eggs for 79 cents a dozen. Needless to say, I have lots of them, going to make some macaroni salad tomorrow and maybe some deviled eggs.

I hope that they do come down. I would guess not and if they do, I feel that it will because they are not selling enough to make it. It will be a forced price control. When people have cut back so much that they are feeling the crunch. I am sure some of that is already happening. What do you think?

No I do not. Prices went up because of the gas increases but now the gas is dropping the food prices stay the same. Once the suppliers realize we will pay they then have no intention of letting them come back down again (why lose profit).

fuel prices coming back down should help some, lowering the cost of transporting the food. I think one of the first things I would do is promote local businesses to buy local produce. I would give tax breaks and incentives to the farmers and to the packaging companies if they would go back to a local way of commerce. Not only would this reduce the cost, it would force more smaller companies to operate which would supply more local jobs. I remember when the "milkman" would deliver milk to our home every few days. He delivered milk, cream, butter and eggs. We would go to the bread store which sold the bread from a local bakery. It worked forty years ago, but things got too big. Companies got greedier, people got greedier, the little guys got shut down. With the direction that todays economy is heading, we could get forced back into a more local way of life. I would love it. No more scares about "tomatoes", "peppers", and samonella infecting more than a thousand people. Oh well, that is one of the things I would do, there is a lot more things I would do about a lot of other things too. Take it light....

your right. Some of the old ways were the right ways ! If its not broke dont fix it. YOU HAVE MADE SOME REALLY GOOD POINTS. i THINK WE SHOULD HELP THE FARMERS AND HAVE SPECIAL BREAKS FOR THEM....because we need more growers to drive down the prices.

No, It will only get worse. Read the Bible, "A days wage for a loaf of bread." Revelation 6:5,6 There is no turning back my friends, we just have to be prepared for the worst. It is time to stock up on non-perishable items. Like canned foods to feed your families. Along with stocking up, rely on God to see you through these troubling times ahead. A worldwide famine is upon us and it is up to you to listen to more than the alphabet news stations who sensationalize everything and tell you no truth at all. Try Alex Jones, Dr Stan Monetith and Dr Betty Martini for starters. They will open your eyes to a whole new world. We have been decieved from the beginning. Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth will make you free." John 8:32 and 36. God Bless everyone on this website.

Well I doubt that prices will go down soon. Taking into consideration the increasing demand for food due to an increase in population as well as the constant rising prices for oil, I don't even have the slightest belief that food and other necessities will become less expensive. Unless people change on how the believe and act on things I doubt any improvements in life will be achieved in the near future. But I do believe that there is hope for us yet. Perhaps solving one problem can fix all of the other problems. I think focusing on finding alternative sources of energy is the best bet to solve all our problems, thous it really is not inclined with food problems I know that it affects it in a great way.

I think there is hope too. I believe when people work together , things can get done.
