What do you say about computer is it a boon or curse. Do you suggest that entry of computers in our life is making us more dependent on the latter. So what are your views of the same, Should we stop using it or in a limited manner as most of us use computer almost for half the day.

what are you talking about?? this is crazy!! can you live without a computer for one year???this is total nonsense to ask "should we stop using it"..!! its definitely a boon and not a curse...its reason why you and me discussing on this topic,i mean the communication... without computer todays world will stop working! what you ask would have been possible if you asked it some 80-100 years back! but today, everything is computerized... Thanks, Sri

Well, I'd say the computer is a tool. It can be either a boon or a curse depending on how you use it. You can use it to discover new information, to inform yourself, to learn, but you can also use it to waste time. It's up to you--whether the computer is good or bad depends on your actions. Also, being dependent on the computer isn't necessarily a bad thing. In some cases it can allow us more time to explore deeper into subjects we normally wouldn't have time for. For instance, computers can perform calculations at extreme speeds--calculations that we wouldn't be able to do with just pen and paper. With pen and paper Newton and Leibniz were able to discover calculus, but with computers, who knows? We can go further than that with its speed. Of course, the vices with computers are just as numerous. It's a giant time suck if you play MMORPGs, or even if you just browse certain news aggregation sites. But, it's up to you how you spend your time--you could just as easily waste it doing something else. In general, using the computer isn't a bad thing, as long as we know we're making good use of the tool.
