baking in the summer!

Yes...usually in the morning like you say before it gets too warm out. In the winter I bake at night....so the house is warmer for sleeping.

No I don't get up early to bake. If it is a really hot day and I want to bake cookies or muffins I put my toaster oven on my patio table out on my back deck and do my baking outside. I have done this several times this summer and it works great.

I hate to even turn the oven on when it's so hot out but I do tend to do it in the evening. I just baked some brownies a couple of nights ago and kept the kitchen window open.

I made some chocolate chip cookies about an hour ago. I normally try to bake in the morning or the evening in the summer time too. I will sometimes bake in the middle of the day though. Like today. It was almost noon before I turned the oven on. It is a little bit cooler today though.

I baked some chocolate chip cookies yesterday and the house was hot all day (it was hot to begin with). They didn't turn out well, they were mostly flat, and I'm not sure why. I wonder if the humidity had anything to do with it.

I was actually thinking about making cookies this morning, but I decided to make muffins instead. We have air conditioning and the oven vents outside, so baking doesn't really build up a lot of heat inside the house. I usually end up baking during the hottest time of the day, because that's when I've finished my 'morning' tasks.

lol i supose the only 'baking or cooking' i do in the summer is on a BBQ lol but that sounds great, i love the smell of freshly baked cookies in the morning, and when the weather is nice, what a perfict start to the day!
