I am considering snake to be my pet. I prefer the burmese phyton. They say its harmless and non venomous. Would you want one as your pet?

Hi WATARIKENJI, I’m very scared of those living things without legs like worms and snakes. I always feel frightened to approach any of them when visiting zoo. There I could see many visitors were brave enough to take photos holding a huge python in their hands or let the dreadful creature to twist round their neck. I was told that the python there was tame and was non venomous as the cobra was. I always watch the snakes at a distance. So definitely I will not keep any snake as my pet.

Pets as snakes?!?! No way, not my thing at all! Funny story about that actually. We have a barn in our back yard and about 2 months ago my sister was out there doing something. I walked out there to talk to her and propped my arm up on the left door jam. Well when I went to leave I pushed myself off the door and when I did, I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. So I looked and on top of a table, wrapped around a box was a snake. Well, I thought it was fake and said something to my sister about it. She was like NOOOO its real!! We both freaked out and called my step-dad to come and kill it. He said he wouldnt be home for awhile so I had to kill it. I did it with a shovel and it struck at me almost the whole time. And then when I cut its head off it was STILL MOVING!!! Talk about being freaked out! And to top it all off it was a COPPERHEAD. No snakes for me thanks but I wish you the best of luck with yours :-)

I dont think I'd ever want a snake as a pet. I'm more of a dog and cat person than a reptile person.

NO WAY ! I dont like snakes ! I had a friend a few years back that had 3 of them, all boas. The smallest was 3 foot, the next one was 6 foot and the largest one was 7 1/2 foot ! He would bring them to the little league ball field and let them crawl around in the grass so they could get exercise. My kids loved them, but I wouldnt go near them !

WHY NOT?! if that will make my friend HAPPY... then go ahead and fulfill your dream of having a snake as a pet! I used to have a pet snake before which I named VIPER... but unfortunately it was able to sneak out of its home and when my terrified brother-in-law saw it... HE KILLED IT without any hesitation. I still miss my pet Viper

My sister had one or a long time, and it was really eally cool. I hae a picture o myself with the snake wrapped around my neck. When it wrapped itsself around my step-dad's neck, it would rub it's head under his beard, for a massage. My sister would fit it a handful of live mice every couple o weeks.

I would definitely not want a snake for a pet. But I know someone who has a ball python, and someone who has another type of python. When I think of pets, I think of aquarium fish, cats, or dogs. I do not think of the more exotic animals. Anyway, I don't have any pets. My husband and I like to travel once in awhile and we find it's much easier if we don't have animals. Hope you enjoy whatever pet you decide on, WATARIKENJI.

A Burmese python is fairly gentle. I had a 7 foot S. American rosy boa constrictor when I was in college named "Beverly" (because the girl I was dating at the time was named Beverly Boa...the niece of our politician Barry Goldwater). The snake was extremely gentle and had the total run of the apartment. She would curl up with me at night for the warmth, just like a cat. You will have to get used to feeding time (at least once a week). Beverly would eat a half dozen chicks at a time, and they can't become box trained like a cat.

I think having a pet snake is very cool. I like to have one. But no matter how much i wanted to, I cant. Unless I have my own house. My sister would faint if she will see a snake near here. I don't want to risk that, am I? I am considering of buying a toy snake so that she can get used to it. But i doubt if it works out fine. I might as well forget it. Good luck on your pet.
