Ohio State-Michigan Duke-North Carolina Florida-Florida State Lakers-Celtics Cubs-White Sox Mets-Yankees Yankees-Red Sox Here are a few. Are one of these the best? Do you have another? I think Yankees-Red Sox or Ohio State-Michigan.

I know this is not baseball rivalry but the best rivalry in football has got to be either Boca Juniors and River Plates (Argentina) or Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic (Scotland)

The best rivalry in my opinion is the White Sox- Cubs Chicago rivalry. Nothing else comes close as far as baseball rivalries. Cubs and Sox fans hate each other when the series comes around, and the whole fight thing a couple of years ago added fuel to the fire. As for football rivalries, I have to go with Bears-Packers. They play twice a year, and they hate each other. there is always trash talking and tons of cheap shots that go along with nay good rivalry. Another one is Notre Dame-Michigan. However, this one has been tuned down as they do not always play each other every year. Basketball really doesn't have any good rivalries, I have noticed. These are my favorites.

Great rivalries that I did not know much about. I guess I am not around them, so I am not informed. Thanks for the response.

The only rivalry that I am really aware of or up to date on is the Duke and North Carolina rivalry because me and my fiance live in North Carolina, and I know people who support Duke and I know people who support Carolina and they have a bad habit of getting into arguments over it,and I am always hearing about the two teams on television and about how much they can not get along.

Yeah I think 13 miles sounds pretty accurate which that does add to the heated rivalry between them, because both schools want to prove their dominance over the other, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting my friend.

Yes, that is a huge rivalry. I think that the two schools are only separated by like 13 miles, too, making a big rivalry.

Being a huge Packer fan I'd like to say that the Bears & Packers is the best rivalry in sports... but what brings this one down a bit is that these two teams are rarely good at the same time. While the Bears were good in the 80's, making the Super Bowl in '85, the Packers were awful. In the 90s the Bears were a joke and the Packers were going to the play offs and winning a Super Bowl in '96. In the 2000s both teams have seen their ups and downs but I can't recall one time they've played as of late where both teams were fighting for the division. Anyway, the best rivalry in sports has to be Yankees & Red Sox. I'm not a fan of either of these teams (far from it) but as far as I can tell nothing can touch it. Both of these teams are competitive each and every year. Not to mention the most amazing comeback in baseball history a few years ago (maybe sports history) was when the Red Sox came back from a 3-0 hole to beat the Yankees in the ALCS a few years back now. They then went on to win 4 straight over St. Louis to win their first World Series in forever.
